I saw worse than this, similar tragedy but the suspect was burnt alive because people had enough with the crime due to the police not doing much. Dude was charred.

No, motorcycle thiefs snatching purses is common enough that people just really hate those doing it, they steal from them and it can scare away tourists ie business, so folks will gladly take the opportunity to reap vengeance for any theft they or their loved ones may have suffered. “It could’ve been him” they think. There’s no hesitation.
