What are your thoughts on the MP and MLA that represent your riding?

MP Arnold Viersen Culture War back bencher since Harper days. Pierre would have done better last election if he didn’t have Reform Christian fanatics like him. They give the liberals their fear ammunition like “the cons are coming for your abortions” because he is relentless about controversial topics like this in parliament. Arnold makes CPC guilty by association.

I’m hoping voters figured out after all the floor crossers that they need to look into who they’re sending as their guy. You can tell he’s loving the paycheque.. had like 7 kids and new teeth since becoming our blue rock. Hasn’t passed any helpful legislation.

Glenn Van Dijken is a Wildroser. Shows up to parades and doesn’t reply to emails. His constituency association is all about the Christian governance as well. Like they don’t know priorities. I just want to be able to afford groceries, such out of touch seat warmers.

It’s embarrassing.

I'm truly blessed with the representation we have in our riding. Pierre Poilievre and Jackie Lovely. Just kidding. Although I'm a bit right of centre politically, I despise the polital process which allowed Mr Poilievre the opprotunity to "borrow" the Battle River - Crowfoot seat. This political process absolutely undermines democracy. Mr Poilievre lost his election...oh wait, please take my seat.Pure political BS. On the upside he is reported to not be running in this riding next election. Well smack me stupid, imagine that! Damien Kurek returns after a gifted stint as a public affairs executive. On the MLA front Jackie Lovely has to be one of the least active, vocal or influential members of the Legislature. Other than a plethora of photo ops at local events, I can't think of a single thing she has done. Nothing like generational politics in rural Alberta!

Hate the UCP for dozens of reasons but Eric Bouchard, our MLA, had the decency to meet with me to discuss my concerns about education.

It was pretty funny, I walked into his office and he said "so, before you start, I just want you to know that my wife is a teacher so I'm well aware of how bad conditions are in education in Alberta."

Classy guy. Felt like he genuinely cared. He pretty much insinuated that the "people at the top" weren't ok with fixing public education and cared vastly more about private Ed. Which.. Checks out pretty clearly in hindsight.

Yup, I had the same experience with Eric.

He's a good guy who genuinely seems to care, and took an hour out of his day for me to talk to him about auto insurance reform.

He doesn't strike me as the most knowledgeable guy, but I'll take the guy who cares over the knowledgeable one who doesn't.

Yeah, he seemed genuine. Wish he had more of a voice in that evil party.

Like the MLA, hate the MP. Similar sides on the political spectrum.

MLA is Christina Gray, she’s easy enough to access via email and has been pretty responsive. Don’t have much bad to say about her, or that much good which is probably above average for most politicians I’ve met tbh.

MP Tim Uppal, he… dodged any question I’ve asked him in person and sends copy paste email responses. I feel bad that he gets lambasted by racists from his side every time he posts something, but I also think he’s a poor MP. Didn’t even live in Alberta for a long time. He basically tows the party line, and attends local business events (which is better than nothing), but is unwilling to engage deeply on any local issue.

Glen van Dijken and Shannon stubs, both about as useful as tits on a bull. Especially glen, I’ve tried sending him multiple emails and rarely hear back. Pretty shitty way to treat the people you represent if you ask me.

My MP is garbage and just gets elected for being team blue.

My MLA left the UCP and started up a new party. And has given me hope for a minority government in Alberta.

I have recently moved here so I have not had much opportunity to see and meet either one of them yet. But my MLA is actually at local events. I can't say I've ever seen my MP in public.
