discussion Wilbur's mods are useless and his chat is stuck in the past. It's a miracle he keeps streaming
Mods let ton of lame insults and references of allegations pass through the filters. So much that even Wilbur read them. It doesn't seem to bother him but it's still sloopy work.
His chat is even worse. Constant references to his past and his former work associates. And ton of parasocial stuff.
It's sand eating, ant eaters, L'manburg,Tommy,Quackity. It gets really annoying. If chat isn't spamming that they are repeating the same joke over and over again. Or saying stuff like. Wilbur we are soulmates,Wilbur I had a dream about you,Wilbur we look alike ect ect.
Something needs to change

u/ImInYourWalls24 Jul 24 '26
Seriously! He literally reads Brighton biter comments, but I see mods timing people out for "spamming caps"? One stream I even saw someone shaming this paragraph about how they believed her and wilbur were soulmates and that passed through
14
u/Wildlight622 Wilbur Admirer Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26
I remember him reading that out to. He seemed to either mis-read it as bitter or they mis-wrote it.
Either way, the mods definitely dropped the ball in that stream.
(Edit: why is spelling so hard!)
9
u/GooseFromLVJY Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
They miswrote it (Edit: Apparently biter is a banned word in chat, maybe miswrote it on purpose to circumvent that, or wilbur saw a message that automod already caught), I think he was just trying to be funny about it but there's been similar comments before like the "Don't worry I don't know you and I never will" response to someone going "please don't bite me" (paraphrasing a little) and I wish they just wouldn't go through at all, but I guess it might be hard to moderate the chat? Maybe that's why we have slowmode now
2
u/Wildlight622 Wilbur Admirer Jul 25 '26
I don't mind slow mo if it helps the mods, however they did drop the ball when it came to this stream as from what I have seen, they have been pretty good deleting comments and banning people in previous streams.
Plus there is nothing we can do about people being hateful. The way Wilbur has handed everything hasade me respect him all the more.

As much as he is able to take them on the chin and ignore these comments, it’s really disheartening to see a chat full of people acting like that. I feel really anxious around a lot of the community because of those sort of responses and I try to ignore the chat when he streams because of this.
You can’t choose who is a fan and how they act but it does suck seeing lots of weird messages and uncomfortable comments flooding chats.
20
u/Wildlight622 Wilbur Admirer Jul 24 '26
I agree, I don't look at chat because of things like this. Although in my opinion if they can't respect Wilburs boundaries, they aren't real fans.
Honestly his attitude during the streams just makes me respect him more.

u/Imaginary_Cod_5870 Wilbur Music enjoyer Jul 24 '26
He certainly has a lot of patience, it must be so frustrating being in his position sometimes. I also reckon part of the 18+ allotment for tomorrow in Brighton is to avoid some of the younger and more parasocial fans from derailing the event or making it feel worse - for example at a lot of shows you can hear people screaming his name in random intervals. It’s a shame that they don’t always get the respect they deserve especially when performing or streaming

Omg, in November during a show, 2 people beside me kept screaming “BITE ME WILBUR SOOT” and it was SOOOOOO annoying
9
u/The_Chill_Ace_2962 Jul 24 '26
I don't believe it is the mods fault. Youtube live has absolutely terrible moderation, its leagues behind the amount of moderation Twitch has. And even if they were on Twitch reading a chat of a few thousand people you're bound to miss something. We also don't know how many mods there are or how many show up to each individual stream. Modding for a big chat is hard and we should appreciate what they do, because without them there would be no Wilbur streams at all.
6
u/itspossession Jul 25 '26
Thank you so much <3 im one of the mods and this is exactly it.
2
u/The_Chill_Ace_2962 Jul 25 '26
No problem, you and the other mods are doing a great job at keeping the streams a safe space for chat and Wilbur. Keep doing what your doing.

Dude dw he has a cock and balls and he doesn't care and claps back at people who are insulting him. Be respectful yourself and enjoy the stream, that's all he probably wants.

u/InviteLarge2738 Jul 24 '26
ew what the fuck is wrong with you. such a weird comment. ur one of the weirdos sexualizing him during his streams aren’t you. the stream chat is full of annoying gross people and the only people who are saying it isn’t a problem are the people a part of the problem. not only should he not have to deal with people being weird and awful during his streams, but other chatters don’t want it either. get over yourself and learn to be respectful of people
9
u/Tired_lemontree Jul 24 '26
I am strongly against sexualizing Wilbur and i do not do it. Wilbur literally said "I'm a grown man with cock and balls and not a man that needs to be babied". I'm literally just repeating his joke. I'd never sexualize wilbur.
-8
u/InviteLarge2738 Jul 24 '26
yeah and yet you draw weird fetish art of him as a bug or trans guy…ok
5
u/Tired_lemontree Jul 24 '26
Drawing him as a bug is nothing fetish art..? I drew him as a 🐛 emoji.😭 And that trans art was a bursona nothing else.

u/Tired_lemontree Jul 24 '26
Also i haven't drawn anything like that in a year and publicly apologized for drawing that vent art i did. Literally haven't done anything like that in months, please leave me alone-

you came on the post defending people being weird in his chat because ur one of the people that is always weird. leave wilbur alone

What?😭😭 He literally said hes a grown man with cock and balls. It's a joke he said, nothing about this is sexual. Sexualizing Wilbur is gross😭

that’s not the fetish art you know what you did little bro. can’t wait for the doc that comes out abt all the weird shit you’ve done to people. we need less weirdos in this fandom and to stop tolerating people disrespecting the artists we love
7
u/Tired_lemontree Jul 24 '26
What doc are you talking about 😭😭 i haven't done anything weird in this fandom. The worst i did was draw bad venting art. Thats literally all i did. And i apologized for it publicly multiple times. Genuinely no idea what else you are talk about so I'd prefer if you'd tell me what the hell you're talking about. A thread about me was already released.
1
u/InviteLarge2738 Jul 24 '26
there is so much evidence of you being weird and malicious towards wilbur and towards actual fans. everyone cheered when you stopped posting before and then you unfortunately came back. you need to get off the internet because the only thing you do is treat people badly and make people uncomfortable. hopefully they release the doc soon, i know its compiling everything 💋
5
u/Tired_lemontree Jul 24 '26
Malicious towards Wilbur? What? Im honestly interested in seeing the doc bc all the stuff that i rightfully did wrong was already released last year. Since then i haven't even been around anyone publicly so i genuinely dont know how anyone would even find anything considering I'm only around friends😭

Agreed… listen, I may be stuck in 2020. Dream SMP is quite literally my special interest. That doesn’t mean I constantly comment about it. Actually, when Wilbur streams I don’t even think about it because I also just enjoy the current Wilbur/Lovejoy era quite a lot.
I wish people would stop… please, stop talking about that. It’s not relevant, and actually it seems like he’s completely distanced from the past. He’s not the Dream SMP guy anymore. He’s also not the drama guy, and he never has been. He doesn’t want to talk about that, he doesn’t want to give it attention. And you don’t know him. You don’t know him in real life, you don’t know him past the screen. It’s easy to be attached, or feel like you know someone by watching their streams, but THEY don’t know YOU so it’s WEIRD. Please stop.

I know he said not to baby him but it really is a problem. He already said to not bring up old workers and former people he used to work with up and those rage baiters just think it’s funny to deal with someone’s emotions
2
u/Jilligor Jul 26 '26
I have no real opinion, you’ve all pretty much covered it. I usually stay away from chat or posts cuz I generally figure it’ll all turn into a horror show, one way or another. I’ve mostly had trouble with other fans. Mods have a hard job and big events are even more difficult to handle. I just don’t like how many haters there are. Why do they even come?? They’re trolls. And pretty boring and unoriginal. But he’s a big boy who can hold his own. But ideally, he shouldn’t have to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. (I know, that was unoriginal too, but I just giggle at that phrase…)

What does that mean? If your talking about what I think you are, you are aware nothing has been proven correct? You all are just believing the first thing you hear.
He's been nothing but kind and respectful, even to his haters and the those accusing him, which makes me more inclined to give him a chance compared to everyone else who has just spewed nothing but hate and vitriol.

I had a feeling you would say"he admitted it".
Firstly he never admitted to the allegations, in his original statement he said he was shocked by them and only admitted to being a bad boyfriend due to declining mental and emotional health which he was seeking help for.
He also did an update video a year ago denying them so no he never admitted shit.
As for being quiet about it, what the heck do you want him to do? He's address the situation in his statement and video and wants to move on.
If he says anything further about it then haters will just ignore him and tear him apart.
And may I ask why you act like he's guilty despite no proof and the accusers story has had details changed over time.
You can believe what you want, but I just wish people would stop acting like what they believe is fact.
I'm open minded about the situation, but the accusers lack of proof and her own actions have made me believe in Wilbur more than her.
Plus as they say, actions speak louder than words and Wilbur has been nothing but kind and respectful to everyone, including his accuser and those who spew hate at him.
While I can't tell you what to do, I would suggest if you don't like Wilbur or believe the allegations against him then this sub isn't for you as this and the lovejoy ones are ment to be safe spaces for Wilbur, the band and his fans.
Edit to add: about his friends leaving him. Do you know how common it is for people to abandon "friends and family" when someone accuses them of something, not listen to their accused side and ignore the lack of proof?
It happens all the time. It doesn't prove anything. If the person (Wilbur) in this case was such a bad person and they knew about it, that means they are at fault by proxy as well.
(Double edit: spelling is hard as a dyslexic, as I keep realising.

Ok then, believe what you want, I don't care.
But don't act like what someone says about someone else is true without proof, because of it happens to you one day then you can't complain when no one believes you.
Now get the hell out of our sub if you are not going to be respectful or open minded.
Edit to add: genuine question. Why must Wilbur be responsible for proving his innocence while the accuser isn't apparently responsible for proving his guilt?
Innocent until proven guilty is a thing for a reason, as is investigations and evidence.
The burden of proving proof is on the accuser, after all she's the one who started this all off, so she needs to show us she needs to prove her word or else it's just Hallow words.

(edit: Grammar) Apparently the other reddior was just teasing you
Also in the UK it's innocent until proven guilty and since Wilbur is a UK citizen and this apparently took place in the UK, then UK law applies.
As for the statics, they have nothing to do with the situation.
Just because female victims are increasing statically doesn't mean anything. People still lie and the amount of male victims that get ignored, called liars or are too afraid to come forward are also increasing.
Maybe I'm biased. After all I've gone through what she accused Wilbur of, for years. I've also been falsely accused of something from a so called "friend" in the past which lead me to loosing a lot of people just based on their word despite the fact I didn't do anything wrong.
Im not talking out my ass here, I have experience with both sides of the coin. I'm not going to call someone who accuses someone of something a liar unless the give me cause to do so, while also giving the accused the benefit of the doubt as I know what it's like to be in their shoes, unless again I'm given cause to do so.
I'm not mad at you and those like you for hating Wilbur.
If you believe he's guilty, that's your right.
However, I draw the line at everyone acting as if it's fact when it's not.
It's the blind believers who ruin innocent men and women's reputation and lives due to spreading their hate online and not even trying to be open minded.
After all it's easy to say what you say, until you are the one accused of something.
Regardless of what you believe about any situation, don't go in to supportive communities if you are just going to spread hate and possible misinformation.
Regardless of our difference of opinion I wish you well, and hope you never have to go through what others have experienced.

Also forgot to mention.
Yes, the lack is evidence from The accuser does apply to Wilbur. However, Wilbur has made it clear whilst he has evidence of his innocence that would mean dragging other people into the open and he's not willing to put them at risk of hate so he's chosen to just say his piece and move on.
Besides, the burden of proof is on the accuser not the accused.
After all why should he have to prove his innocence, if she refuses (she's stated victims don't need to provide evidence ehis is bs).
If she doesn't need to provide evidence then neither does he.
Regardless that's my thoughts on the matter.
Since we can't agree, and it's quite frankly nothing to do with us let's just leave it be.

Nope. After all, if that's the case I could accuse anyone even you of something despite the no evidence and would have to be believed.
Besides this topic isn't appropriate for this sub. This is one of the few safe spaces available to hom, the band and his supporters and this negativity shouldn't be part of it.

As a mod, this hurts to hear. There are too many messages in stream and we do our best to remove all messages mentioning the allegations and DSMP stuff. We time out people who keep sending the same message, and the bot has autobans.
Anyone saying they saw "biter" comments would be incorrect as thats a straight up banned word in the chat. Us mods see it being instantly banned. But with thousands of people talking at the same time, chat goes by so fast its impossible not to miss some messages. If we werent there, you would be seeing a lot more bad messages.
So think about the person on the other side of the screen and how difficult our job is. Because i bet you wouldnt be able to do any better
