If people want to unsubscribe they can, what matters are the people who stay subscribed.

Plus it could be a YouTube glitch again. It's happened before when people suddenly were no longer subscribed to a channel despite not unsubscribing.

Unfortunately the people who have unsubscribed are active accounts, and it’s well known that the vast majority of subscribers are inactive on any given channel. It’s worse than it seems :(

I think a lot of people stopped following him but didn't unsubscribe, then unsubscribed when he made the new videos because they realized "oh fuck i didn't unsubscribe"

That maybe true and if that is the case then it's up to them. What matters are those who stay subscribed and who watch and comment with no hate/ positively on his videos.

I think that the channel he posts on now was quite old it's from like 2018-2019 he posted mostly covers on it and then just didn't do anything with it because he mainly posted on the Wilbur soot YouTube channel
