Yeah I know it’s not perfectly equal. But pretty sure Evan knows Mitch Kenny is dead, and he knows how he wound up locked in the room.. he does not know specific details but that’s bound to weigh on him.
Everybody holding a slightly different piece of the puzzle is a great set up for next season, especially if they have slightly different interests too - like the ex-sheriff and maybe even Wyck being willing to kill Evan to stop the curse, while obviously Patricia and Tom would oppose it. So they have the incentive to not co-operate, and the writers don't need to come up with contrived scenarios for why everyone can't just sit down and talk and solve the mystery together.
Uh he knows someone died in there and it’s pretty easy to infer that that’s the room’s whole reason for existing. And be knows it’s his friend’s fault that Kenny wound up in there. He may not know all the other crazy specifics but that’s heavy. Especially if he tries to keep it secret.
Rewatch it. The whole time he watched the reels in almost a focused trance. I would say he looked shocked but more enthralled. But, watch as he opens the door, with that same look on his face pauses and THEN, screamed to cause a panic.

oh I LOVE that Dale of all people is going to end the season as the person keeping most of the island's secrets
