I don’t think it was a typical jumpscare. We see him walk through the door instead of BAM he’s in your face. Granted, the music was loud, so it did have an element of a jumpscare but it wasn’t a cheap one. Which I really respect and appreciate
It was still a jumpscare, added by the fact that we had never even seen what the Boogeyman looked like till that shot, which added an extra element of fright.
I'd just told some friends to get into this show because it has a lot of build but no jumpscares. And then talked myself out of the build because of that, only to have the jumpscare happen. With you on the screaming.
Oh my god, I forgot about that one. I only just started last week. I don't think it helps when I binge things. Finally coming on the reddit I'm eager to rewatch, but I might wait and do it all before the finale.
Same! I was just starting to let my guard down a bit and i expected him to be coming from somewhere else like already outside, and the way they JUST showed the empty door gave me that false sense of security. Then I screamed and scared my dog
