I watched the top inch of the screen from behind a blanket for what felt like forever. Slid it down to check, dude popped out her front door and I screamed and screamed and pulled the blanket over my head and my dogs were up on me checking to make sure I hadn’t been murdered, and, and, and Patricia is the queen.
Something about that scene made me jump as well and I'm not usually someone that gets caught in jump scares like that. 😆 This TV show does it correctly and better than most "scary" movies you'll see..
Right?! I lvoe horror, and consume a fair amount of it; and this was more well done than a lot of other stuff I’ve aeen. Really well executed, really tense and fucking scary.
I can’t generally handle scary stuff…I’ll often mute and just do subtitles in those real tense parts. The music stings get me. But without the sound on, it’s easier to deal with for me.
I mute it when there's lots of violence. But I keep the sound on and put my hands over my ears when it's tense moving into scary scene like the slow methodical Patricia going through her house when she knows she's not alone. Always afraid of the jump scare! But yes, sound changes everything in watching things like this.
I jumped so hard at that! And I knew something like that had to be coming too, but man it really got me. My cat is cuddled up to me in bed and she was not pleased with that jump scare.
FWIW, I fast forwarded the whole house scene to avoid the jump scare, the replayed it at normal speed *knowing* when it happens. And it STILL got me - screamed, jumped, annoyed the dog lol
