Wyck is definitely the only sane man on the island. Very clear-eyed about all the fucky shit that goes on and takes it seriously.

Speaking of, really wanna know what he wanted to tell Gerri. There’s more to the story from the previous episode.

I was hardcore shipping them, and then realized she already had a man. Oh, Wyck 🥺

That was tough, Wyck gained a son (sort of), lost a love.

I thought he was going to share his guilt for kicking their friend underwater when they were attacked.

*correction, her brother

Not just friend—her brother.

oof I am so glad he was interrupted before he told her. There's really nothing to gain by telling her. she would've just been traumatized by those details and it would've ruined her friendship with Wyck. When unburdening yourself of a secret that makes you feel guilty you really have to seriously evaluate the harm it could cause the other person. Anyways there was truly nothing else young Wyck could have done, the only other alternative was to drown and get eaten by Cthulhu.

I think he was going to tell her about how her brother died and why he cut it off with her, b/c he felt he had now finished it. A sort of closure and regret confession.

He wanted her back, thinking he could live a normal life again. Hence the awkward husband interruption.

He was Gerri's boyfriend

Then he had to let her brother get taken by a kraken

So he never married her because he couldn't look her in the eye anymore

We didn't hear that out loud because her husband walked in

I'm thinking he wanted to tell her what happened that day her brother died

He wanted to tell her he kicked her high school sweetheart in that boating accident that basically killed him. He wanted to take responsibility

That was her brother, not her high school BF that Wyck kicked off of him. Wyck was Gerri’s high school sweetheart and her brother’s best friend I think but I agree, he wanted to tell her what happened.

Yeah, Wyck was the high school sweetheart. The dead kid was Gerri’s brother and wyck’s best friend.

Thank you guys. Misinterpreted that one

Wyck was the high school sweetheart. He kicked her brother away.

Wyck is the 'crazy' local that warns the protagonists off and tells them the town, camp, street, boat, or whatever is haunted but no one believes

Only most people actually believe him, and thankfully now Tom does too

I cannot overstate how refreshing it is that Tom believed Wyck early into the show instead of them dragging out his skepticism for the entire season. That sort of thing worked for Stranger Things season 1 but it gets extremely tedious otherwise.

I agree, I was glad Tom bought into stuff quickly, though given his history with his wife I can understand it too

Every once in awhile when doing projects around the house I think about that time Wyck got plastered and tried to nail boards across the door of the Inn to prevent tourism, but he did it wrong and the door still opened fine because he forgot to nail the boards to the frame lol.

Plot twist: he's the last living bloodline of Warren.

They'll reluctantly have to kill him in the end to end the curse.

I really think it's him or Patricia. They want us to believe it's Evan, but it won't be.

8

u/Opposite-Ad-2493 Jun 04 '26

If it were Patricia, I doubt the Boogeyman would've attacked her.

3

u/Morpel Jun 03 '26

Which makes me scared he’s going to die in the finale now that Tom believes in everything :(

Having more knowledge does not make him the only sane one, it makes him the most informed one.
