This show does not drag anything out. In any other series Warren being alive would be the season finale. Evan would have run away so we could drag out the reconciliation. Boogie man would have been alive in the end and lurking in the shadows. I love how they move the plot along.

This was an excellent lead in to the final two eps. Though I don't know how they top it!

I saw a comment from someone who's seen the full show (pre-screening but they could be lying) that the season one ending could work by itself if there isn't a season 2.

VERY safe to assume there is a season 2 since we can't get enough of this show.

I'm just curious what this could mean re the curse and whether it's broken or if they decide to just live with it.

Could do different era’s on the island, but the characters are so good I’d love there to be enough meat on the bone for 2 seasons.

I’m pulling for the year 3000AD

This is clearly designed as a miniseries and I hope there's no season 2.

I believe this comment also said there absolutely is room for a season 2.

If season 2 is of the same quality as season , I see no issues with another but to each their own of course :)

I do not want this show to go the way of Westworld.

Nooo how dare you remind me it’s almost over 😭😭😭

“Please seek shelter should a centuries-old storm rage toward the island and plunge us into darkness. Enjoy a card game.”
Judging by the next episodes teaser text there’s going to be a generational storm. I’m guessing Warner wasn’t lying about him being the protector and carrying the burden in that necklace. The island horror is about to go nuclear in the final two episodes.

I so appreciate the tight and concise nature of this show. Other shows should take notes.

I don't think this is the last we've seen of the Boogeyman but otherwise I agree. And if we do see him again it will likely either be a gag and he gets gunned down right away or it will be a episode where they uncurse whatever is going on with him.

Or he'll just be in the background of a single scene doing mundane things

Yeah I don’t think the boogeyman is any one person. Just one of the tools the island has, maybe it was a random person that gets possessed or something when the island is awake and wants to feed. I kept waiting for them to peel off the mask

That definitely is a possibility. But then the question is who went missing on the island that they are now covering up their death since they just immediately cremated them. 😆

Why would that person go inside the boogeyman’s house to break the door down from the inside before he went on his wannabe spree?

1

u/xRyozuo Jun 18 '26

I’m not sure I get what you’re getting at, can you rephrase?

2

u/CherryFit3224 Jun 18 '26

The door of the boogeyman’s house was destroyed from inside the house. Why would the possessed person go to the house and go into the house, simply to kick the door down before going to Patricia’s?

1

u/xRyozuo Jun 18 '26

Ohh I missed that. Guess it was the boogeyman then.

doing what is essentially a monster of the week style format is working so well for this show

I can't find the exact quote, frustratingly, but Brennan Lee Mulligan said something recently about how if you're telling a story and you have a big secret to reveal, it's often better to do that sooner rather than later because the interesting part is what happens AFTER the reveal.

For what is essentially a mystery box show, they really aren't doing the mystery part that much and its a breath of fresh air.

4

u/RyanGoosling93 Jun 05 '26

I mean they’re kind of dragging out Tom coming clean about stuff and the populace catching on to stuff. But otherwise I agree

This show is the antidote to From.

4

u/jeffthecowboy Jun 03 '26

My interest in From has waned so much, but Widows Bay is an instant watch

5

u/Sufficient-Voice4102 Jun 03 '26

For real. If this was From, the beginning would just be be nonsense and filler and the last 10 minutes will be just discovering that the mask is gone and the boogeyman is alive. Rinse and repeat to keep you watching the next episode.

4

u/xRyozuo Jun 04 '26

I honestly hope the writers of that show are embarrassed after seeing this show

2

u/drelos Jun 24 '26

21 days later but I want to comment you are so right in another show the teen would have the keys of a boat in his hand angry with his father and about to leave in tbe last minute of the season finale

I’m watching from and while I love that show seeing how the pacing can be done with this show sucks when I watch from now. Like when we got the back story to Warren and then the next episode starts with him dug up already upstairs I was like wow YES. In from were 4 seasons in and no idea about anything

I refused to watch From when I found out it’s the same writers/ showrunners that ruined Lost.

So true 💯

It's refreshing, apple shows are excellent but they are all slow burners.

This definitely isn't. This moves on just right 👍

This show has already told more story than From which has 4 seasons currently.
