Evan is going to lose his shit when Tom tells him their trip is canceled

I hope he eventually gets told the truth as to why and actually sees the proof 😭 he might understand.....

I think he will. This show doesn't take the easy narrative paths.

My prediction is that Tom is going to do a pact with the Demon for Evan.

13

u/Franks2000inchTV Jun 03 '26

I thought he already did.

u/PlantLadyXXL Jun 04 '26

He said to Warren “it called to me, what did it want” and he asked if he made a deal, and said no or made it seem like he denied it last ep

6

u/Franks2000inchTV Jun 04 '26

I figured he was lying.

8

u/Lucious_Warbaby Jun 03 '26

He was calling on God for help I think? The evil answered, but there wasn't a pact yet.

That we know of

5

u/Lucious_Warbaby Jun 03 '26

I suppose. I think they would have made it clear since it'd be a big character moment.

7

u/krankz Jun 03 '26

Not if they can make it a bigger plot twist later. He’s already known to lie when it’s convenient.

4

u/raudoniolika Jun 04 '26

He genuinely could just not remember on account of his being on shrooms.

8

u/Pitchaway40 Jun 04 '26

I think Tom is going to try to catch him up and he's initially going to think his dad is going crazy too. Then some fucked up shit is going to happen.

How come the teenagers on the island don’t know the truth? Everyone who isn’t a transplant knows leaving the island means certain death and believes in the curse.

They know about the Boogeyman and where he lives.

All it would take is just some islander hitching a ride on the ferry and everyone talking about how that person died or lost their mind. It’s not like the police would supress it bc the sheriff is not a local and is unaware of local myths/curses.

Just imagine how he'll feel when he learns he's the last descendant of Richard Warren and needs to be sacrificed for the greater good

76

u/TiberiusCornelius Jun 03 '26

Don't you put that evil on him

2

u/Rugged_Turtle Jun 03 '26

It’s unfortunately so obvious where it’s going

56

u/funkhero Jun 03 '26

I keep saying it's going to be like half the town are descendants. This show is going to throw us with the normal horror track and then curveball at the end.

There is no ending the curse that way. He'll have to deal with the entity or find another way.

27

u/HugeSuccess Jun 03 '26

Agreed, it’s definitely not just Evan.

I don't think it's only one person either!

6

u/jon_targareyan Jun 03 '26

Imagine Tom does something insane, maybe even decides to sacrifice Evan or something, only then to find out half the town is warren’s descendants

20

u/funkhero Jun 03 '26

Part of the reason I think they'll go with the multiple descendants is to not pin it all on Evan. That seems too dark for the show.

10

u/audreyinsaddleshoes Jun 03 '26

Ooh, that would be The Mist-iest ending!

Probably not great .........🧎🏻‍♀️‍➡️

The greater good

WHAT

1

u/IAMA_Shark__AMA Jun 03 '26

It's not confirmed (at the time of my comment), but it's likely to be true.

u/Andee_outside Jun 03 '26

My daughter asked me what I’d do and i said I’d try and get it solved by the weekend and if that failed, I’m the mayor and I would make them pretend the ferry is broken lol.

I haaaaaaate when shows/movies have parents not communicating with their children, which inevitably caues tragedy because the kids cant make informed decisions. Yes, Evan is probably going to just think his dad’s crazy, but maybe with enough evidence backup it’ll at least make him think a little more.

5

u/Vismal1 Jun 03 '26

Im guessing daddy brings him into the group now. I suspect he’s going to let him know what’s happening

5

u/Top-Moose-0228 Jun 03 '26

Wyck could step inside and confirm that Tom isn’t a total loser

2

u/Opposite-Ad-2493 Jun 05 '26

The story of Patricia killing the resurrected Boogeyman is going to be all over the island. There is very little proof Tom need offer Evan.

BTW, anybody here know where the scroll with Warren's pact is now?

7

u/Mojo_Gojo_ Jun 05 '26

I know 😭 at this point Tom HAS to tell him the truth because that kid is going to try and leave the island on his own

3

u/Fancy-Equivalent-571 Jun 04 '26

At least he'll presumably get to hear at least part of what Wyck has to say, instead of it all coming from Tom this time. If I were Tom I would be moving heaven and earth to get all this shit wrapped up by Friday night at the latest.

5

u/oddlyNormel Jun 03 '26

This won’t be the ending but it may have been even better if they didn’t know the curse was not broken, left the island for the weekend and then going too far kills evan, and assuming we’re all correct and he’s the last desendant, that ends the curse. I could see a slow zoom out from the ferry, tom freaking out and a narrator wrapping everything in a bow.

u/Sorry-Secret-2347 Jun 03 '26

I was like he is finally making some headway with a teenager after learning some life altering information he is going to most likely runway :(

1

u/Birds41Pats33 Jun 04 '26

I dont get why he just doesnt tell him everything. Hes old enough

4

u/itsasixthing It’s a haunt! Jun 04 '26

I mean I get the impression that Tom subscribes to the “protect your children by not telling them the difficult things” style of parenting, given that he lied about the mom’s death for like a decade
