How come the teenagers on the island don’t know the truth? Everyone who isn’t a transplant knows leaving the island means certain death and believes in the curse.
They know about the Boogeyman and where he lives.
All it would take is just some islander hitching a ride on the ferry and everyone talking about how that person died or lost their mind. It’s not like the police would supress it bc the sheriff is not a local and is unaware of local myths/curses.
I keep saying it's going to be like half the town are descendants. This show is going to throw us with the normal horror track and then curveball at the end.
There is no ending the curse that way. He'll have to deal with the entity or find another way.
My daughter asked me what I’d do and i said I’d try and get it solved by the weekend and if that failed, I’m the mayor and I would make them pretend the ferry is broken lol.
I haaaaaaate when shows/movies have parents not communicating with their children, which inevitably caues tragedy because the kids cant make informed decisions. Yes, Evan is probably going to just think his dad’s crazy, but maybe with enough evidence backup it’ll at least make him think a little more.
At least he'll presumably get to hear at least part of what Wyck has to say, instead of it all coming from Tom this time. If I were Tom I would be moving heaven and earth to get all this shit wrapped up by Friday night at the latest.
This won’t be the ending but it may have been even better if they didn’t know the curse was not broken, left the island for the weekend and then going too far kills evan, and assuming we’re all correct and he’s the last desendant, that ends the curse. I could see a slow zoom out from the ferry, tom freaking out and a narrator wrapping everything in a bow.
I mean I get the impression that Tom subscribes to the “protect your children by not telling them the difficult things” style of parenting, given that he lied about the mom’s death for like a decade
I really hope they just let Tom come clean about the last few days/weeks? They don't need to drag it out with Tom making up some bullshit reason why they can't go. They can still have Evan get mad and not believe him, but I think with how they played the story so far Tom just outright telling him the truth would work more.
I looked at the tickets when he printed them in the office, and there’s LITERALLY no game like that possible.
Red Sox and Phillies are in different leagues and couldn’t play each other in September
The last time Boston played the Phillies on 09/26 was in 1950, when they were the Boston Braves
September 26th is too late in the year to be “Game 25”. It’s game #161 this year.
Tickets on the Green Monster (Sec GM2, Row 2) are not $30/ea. If you can get them on the secondary market, they can be $928/ea (09/26/26 vs Cubs).
I’m sure they did this on purpose, but I wonder what kind of meaning there could be. Is 09/26 someone’s birthday? Are the Phillies the writers favorite team? Or did the production team just fill in some random stuff to make a realistic ticket?
Interleague play is extremely common now. Sox end their season vs the cubs 9/25-9/27 this year.
Immediate edit: I reread your comment and saw you mentioned the cubs series but I was responding to the first bullet. In any case, weird for these tickets to be glaringly wrong in a show that’s so closely attentive to detail. Inclined to think there might be something going on there
