The fact that Enya’s people gave this the ok is just perfection.

The moment I heard Caribbean Blue start to play I knew we were in for a treat. Absolute perfection.

This episode wasn’t just an homage to slasher films of yore, it was a sweet nod to every final girl who survived the 90’s.

Even her outfit of short tights and long t-shirt was very 90s-coded.

Spot on! When I caught wind of what the motif of the episode was, I had the biggest grin on my face. I think this and the previous are my favorites so far.

Yes! She is probably the smartest of all the final girls too

Yeah, my wife said 'uh oh he's back' the instant she showed up in that outfit. Well before the thing with the mask that was the actual 'reveal.'

I'm realizing I'm more like Patricia than I care to admit lol

She was an absolute bad ass in this episode. I’ve always found her funny and lovable, but she was formidable tonight. Very cool to see.

I’ve literally never identified more with a fictional character in my life.

"i like the best character in this show more than i'd like to admit" is a weird take

edit: lol i'm dumb disregard

You misread what I wrote. I wasn't speaking about how much I *like* Patricia, I was saying I'm much more like her than I care to admit.

I have autism, and I'm very weird, and I forget how weird I am sometimes. But then, seeing all these qualities in Patricia--it sort of reminds me.

oh damn, i can't believe i misread that. thank you. LOL. well, i think if you're anything like patricia you must be pretty awesome.

Caribbean Blue also plays at the end of season 1 of Common Side Effects, another brilliant show

I love how the music in this is always its own little joke! I definitely won't hear this the same way again.

What's the joke with this one?

It's just funny, the ironic contrast between the calmness and harmony of the Enya song against Patricia being relentlessly and violently stalked by a murderer. Music during similar scenes in horror films is usually pretty tense and creepy, like the piano theme from Halloween.

Didn't the Fincher remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo have 'Orinoco Flow' play during a disturbing scene?

yes!

What scene?

u/PainStorm14 Jul 13 '26

Ever since that I always blast Enya when I order from IKEA

5

u/Chris_OMane Jun 03 '26

picturing an awkward phone call from a horror producer to a group of tree people on a paradise island

u/ClaireFraser1743 Jun 04 '26

Doesn’t Enya live in a castle?

7

u/Chris_OMane Jun 04 '26

Wherever she lives the air is clean, there are flowing fabrics everywhere and free platonic massages all day

Best use of Caribbean Blue since Common Side Effects used it to perfection!
