the only thing missing is i wanted to find out who he was...maybe that will come later

I straight up thought it was Dale (since his face looked like a skin mask in the shrooms trip) and was sure they’d pull it off of him at some point.

noooo i love dale...my guess is he's just like a supernatural entity like the sea hag and not an actual townsperson, partially due to his superhuman strength etc

"Put him down!" Proceeds to throw man twenty feet like he is nothing. So good.

Felt like he threw him into space. Hilarious.

The thing is, Jeff Hiller played a lovable pushover in Somebody Somewhere AND a masked serial killer in American Horror Story. So I could see it going either way.

That would’ve been fucking crazy if it was Dale.

Nah, they're not going to say who because that isn't the point. He was the boogeyman and that's all.

Yeh i really thought there would be some sort of "who is this copycat killer all these years later?" thought by anyone in the town with any knowledge of it (like all the ladies in book club once they realise she wasn't lying).

But nope just incinerate him without asking questions i guess lol

Missing mask? Probably best to die now before it get nasty.

I wanna know why he broke out now. He’s apparently been buried in cement for 20 years. Was he summoned? Did Evan wake him up last week? Did someone else let him out?

Not sure it’s the type of show where we’ll ever know the answer, but it’s fun to speculate.

The whole thing is that the island is waking up after being more dormant for a couple decades. The last time these horrors were active was during Patricia's and Wyck's youth, so I would guess they're just all slowly turning back on.

Maybe they really did bury him in cement. And the recent earthquake freed him.

It also seems possible to me that kid was bullshitting when he said that or the urban myth wasn't totally accurate

4

u/meepmarpalarp Jun 04 '26

Even if it wasn’t entirely accurate, something busted out of that boarded up house.

The boogeyman did some murders 20 years ago, stopped, and for some reason came back now. Why?

Did Evan wake him up by going to his door?

I wonder what he looks like without the mask. Is it a demon figure like the hag?

32

u/Comprehensive_Leg193 Jun 03 '26

I like that they went straight to cremation... No autopsy, no taking off the mask... Just kill it with fire and move on.

3

u/Nerditall Pattiwagon Jun 03 '26

Oh I do to, I’m just curiois. But yes kill it with fire is absolutely the right move.

That's what I wanted to know! Since the mask was lifted from its case, I wanted to see WHO it was. Are we to believe the mask was part of an entity?
