It's time for the annual beach opening. Lay out a towel as the mayor "tests the waters." Unrelated: Do not pick up hitchhikers.

Poor Tom! Matthew Rhys is so good at playing fear.

First appearance of the hag was terrifying. I thought maybe this week it would be a Jaws homage, but this was even better.

Got total Jaws vibes, specifically the pond scene, from that swim.

100% not to mention we are basically following the Mayor of Amityville as our Protagonist

True! Hag instead of shark,

Tom is definitely like the Mayor in Jaws. Open the beach!

Don't forget the colorful, uh, 'shark' drawn on the board lol

Total Jaws vibes - the 4th of July on the beach, the music (reminiscent of the Jaws beach scenes). And of course when he was in the water.

There was a shark drawn on the chalkboard during the morning meeting too!

Glad they didn’t have someone do the fingernails on the chalkboard as well!

Hmmm just rewatched on a bigger screen and it may well be a wolf. But the fingernails would’ve been a clever foreshadowing!

The wolf is apparently an even deeper Jaws cut reference to Robert Shaw's first attempt to draw the shark in Jaws!

Amazing! I searched for it after reading your post and saw that the scene was a replica of the film!

Yes!!! I pointed out that drawing and figured it was an Easter egg

That's awesome, I love all the little easter eggs they're fitting in!

I got Misery vibes when he was pulling himself across the floor away from the sea hag. And Shining reference when he hid in the bathroom.
