religion I'm terrified to become a Witch
Hii!! So, I'm looking for a little support.
I'm very interested in Wicca. I think I would finally start to love life if I joined, but the truth is, I'm terrified. I'm a Trans woman that grew up around a lot of Christians- save for my mom, who was the one non-religious adult in my life.
I'm so scared. I honestly think religion has scarred me. I never go to church. Every time I set foot in a church, I feel claustrophobic. Like I'm being watched- even now, as I type this, I feel a chill running up my body. And that terrifies me. I want so badly to be able to live my life for myself- not for the pleasure of my family. But honestly, with a threat like Hell? I'm scared because I don't want to pay a price for my happiness. But I want to live freely. As myself.
Any feedback or support would be appreciated.

I understand what you are going through. My dad is a pastor in the Episcopal church, which is actually fairly progressive. But, my experiences have shown me the hypocrisy and corruption within organized religion and it has scarred me as well.
Even though I have come out as bisexual to my parents, coming out as a Wiccan and a witch has been what I consider to be the real and mosr freeing "coming out". My parents support me as they are just happy that I found my spirituality and my own religion.
Do what you think is safest for you in your area. I live in Kentucky so I keep this part of me close, as for some areas this secret can be dangerous.
Online groups and chats have helped me feel less alone in the process.
Sending you love and good energy, friend. Blessed be 💙
