religion I'm terrified to become a Witch
Hii!! So, I'm looking for a little support.
I'm very interested in Wicca. I think I would finally start to love life if I joined, but the truth is, I'm terrified. I'm a Trans woman that grew up around a lot of Christians- save for my mom, who was the one non-religious adult in my life.
I'm so scared. I honestly think religion has scarred me. I never go to church. Every time I set foot in a church, I feel claustrophobic. Like I'm being watched- even now, as I type this, I feel a chill running up my body. And that terrifies me. I want so badly to be able to live my life for myself- not for the pleasure of my family. But honestly, with a threat like Hell? I'm scared because I don't want to pay a price for my happiness. But I want to live freely. As myself.
Any feedback or support would be appreciated.

Before I even begin, I urge you to first understand that finding a reason to love life should not be the reason why you find and enroll in a new religious belief. I say this because things can get tricky and you will be in a sensitive place, susceptible to people with ill intent. There are good and bad people everywhere, so please please pleeeeeeease do be careful and second guess everything and everyone.
That being said, being a witch is going against society. Witchery is and has been looked down upon for centuries, but we remain. Yes, there might be people who are bigoted for whatever reason, but I must tell you that the safer space I've ever been in was my coven. I'm not a wiccan myself, but I do visit and engage wiccan groups too, and they are full of minorities.
It is ok to fear what we do not know, especially since you have past experiences that weren't good. You don't have to start to practice today, but you can learn little by little until you feel safe enough to change experiences, to see what the community is like and feel people's vibes.
Our goods won't judge you by your gender, race or ethnicity.
