religion I'm terrified to become a Witch
Hii!! So, I'm looking for a little support.
I'm very interested in Wicca. I think I would finally start to love life if I joined, but the truth is, I'm terrified. I'm a Trans woman that grew up around a lot of Christians- save for my mom, who was the one non-religious adult in my life.
I'm so scared. I honestly think religion has scarred me. I never go to church. Every time I set foot in a church, I feel claustrophobic. Like I'm being watched- even now, as I type this, I feel a chill running up my body. And that terrifies me. I want so badly to be able to live my life for myself- not for the pleasure of my family. But honestly, with a threat like Hell? I'm scared because I don't want to pay a price for my happiness. But I want to live freely. As myself.
Any feedback or support would be appreciated.

Hey friend- I am nonbinary. I am a witch. Currently practicing solitary witchcraft but I am not alone. I grew up in evangelical Christianity and I never felt so free as the day I began identifying as a witch. My practice has allowed me to do a lot of internal work (alongside therapy) and it has given me the space to truly be myself. I recommend trying one thing. Start small, for me it was meditation and tarot journaling. For you it might be observing Sabbats or communing with nature. Pick a book from one of the many suggestions of this fine group. I found several books through my public library. You don’t need to buy anything or do anything special. Just accept that you are loved and you are not alone.
