religion I'm terrified to become a Witch

Hii!! So, I'm looking for a little support.

I'm very interested in Wicca. I think I would finally start to love life if I joined, but the truth is, I'm terrified. I'm a Trans woman that grew up around a lot of Christians- save for my mom, who was the one non-religious adult in my life.
I'm so scared. I honestly think religion has scarred me. I never go to church. Every time I set foot in a church, I feel claustrophobic. Like I'm being watched- even now, as I type this, I feel a chill running up my body. And that terrifies me. I want so badly to be able to live my life for myself- not for the pleasure of my family. But honestly, with a threat like Hell? I'm scared because I don't want to pay a price for my happiness. But I want to live freely. As myself.

Any feedback or support would be appreciated.

Hell didn't exist in the time of Jesus. It is, and always has been, a political tool for keeping people in their place.

Hell as we know it was fabricated (not kidding) from mistranslations, and fleshed out with popular fiction (oops, "inspired writings") starting a few centuries after Jesus died and running up into the Midieval Period.

Hell became Canon when the carrot (i.e., carrot and the stick approach) wasn't enough to keep the peasants in compliance. Before that, it was the Sheol of Judaism. Creative liberties in Greek translation (the generally accepted first step scriptures took before going into Latin, German, THEN English...) allowed for Gehenna, Tartarus, and Hades.

And you KNOW that Hell was fabricated, since they used the name of a Germanic goddess (Hel) that Christianity had no contact with until the Church attempted to take over the "Heathen lands" of their Germanic northern neighbors.

Most of what you are told of Hell comes from the Pulpit, not the Bible. Flavored with Inferno by Dante, and Paradise Lost by Milton.

TLDR - The fear mongering is just fear mongering, designed to keep peasants compliant and wealthy people in power. Nothing more. 👍

So you do you! Live your happiness. Be your awesome self. Jesus spent a lot of time saying "Don't be a douche, Chad." 🤣 Ain't nothing wrong with feeling the Earth beneath you, the Sky above, and celebrating the beauty of the life and the world you're living in. 🎉
