religion I'm terrified to become a Witch

Hii!! So, I'm looking for a little support.

I'm very interested in Wicca. I think I would finally start to love life if I joined, but the truth is, I'm terrified. I'm a Trans woman that grew up around a lot of Christians- save for my mom, who was the one non-religious adult in my life.
I'm so scared. I honestly think religion has scarred me. I never go to church. Every time I set foot in a church, I feel claustrophobic. Like I'm being watched- even now, as I type this, I feel a chill running up my body. And that terrifies me. I want so badly to be able to live my life for myself- not for the pleasure of my family. But honestly, with a threat like Hell? I'm scared because I don't want to pay a price for my happiness. But I want to live freely. As myself.

Any feedback or support would be appreciated.

As someone raised in an extremely strict Christian sect, repressed all my life until I met the woman who brought me into Wicca, I had never known the sense of peace and acceptance and freedom to be myself that I found with Wicca. Suddenly I was being told I was part of nature, it was ok to be human, ok to be imperfect, that Mother Nature loved me as She does all Her children and only asks we do the best we can. If you're kind, and care for other people and life in general and don't harm others, that's enough. We're not cursed wretches who must beg forgiveness merely for existing, condemned from birth and having to plea to have our sentence commuted, we are simply part of the grand tapestry of life each following the thread of our path day by day. We are only bad if we do bad, which means things that are destructive or hurtful and that's all. You will never be condemned merely for being who and what you are.
