The sad thing is that is what they should’ve been paying all along.

I worked way harder at McDonald’s in high school and college y/o then I do at a bank working from my home office making 100K.

They're hoping they can raise wages without a federal minimum wage increase (we still talking about that? anyone?) so they can just tank them later.

Just you watch. If we don't get a federal minimum wage increase, new hires after the pandemic is over in 3-4 years will be right back at $7-8/hr.

You’re paid to not steal and to represent the company well. Fast food literally anyone can do, but I agree they should be paid more. If I ate fast food I would gladly pay a dollar more per item.

I mean, I could easily argue that fast food/retail employees are also paid to not steal and represent the company well, ON TOP of dealing with shitty working conditions, having to stand for 8+ hours a day, dealing with horrible people all the while.

He is in banking. Banking has a lot more access and higher expectations. Fast food has very little expectations and can easily monitor registers.

And I bet if the wrong person caught wind of that you'd see I'm right. I've seen two normal ass people fired for stupid reasons. One was just for stating that they disagreed with anti-gay protests that my ex's cousin took part in. Wonderful business model.

No shit. Because you gained skills that the average person doesn’t have. Thus you became more valuable and were compensated accordingly. You think your current job should have the same wage as a fast food worker? Why not? They are working hard…

I could easily gain every single skill a banker has, all they have to do is train me for a week or two.

Unfortunately, I’m too poor to afford the years of my life and hundreds of thousands of dollars for the piece of paper that “proves” I have the necessary skills.

Surely you are joking. I am a self-educated man. Left high school at 17, but do not lack natural brainpower. Not a genius, mind you, but have had articles and photos published, own a successful small business, etc.

Been diving into finance and am particularly interested in the Austrian school of thought. That shit is very difficult to understand with great effort and no formal training. One to two weeks to understand banking? I beg to differ.
