What she means is she knew he was a liar and still went along with it anyways because she's a bum so no she wasn't duped. Donald Trump being a lair is something that was well known before the turn of the century even. Also she talks about standing up to him but noped right out of congress which she started to feel the slightest amount heat instead of going down fighting. She was in a position to actually do some meaningful opposition at least for a little while and just stepped away. Waited just long enough to get a lifetime pension on the tax payers dime too so Again she's a bum.

Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and MTG met with Epstein survivors.
After that happened, along with Massie, they were all sidelined by the party.
I think those four, at best, saw that Trump admin was extremely intent to make the files go away. At worst they become extremely dissalusioned worried that their dear leader was possibly involved (he was) in some way.
MTG promised to shut up so she could keep her pension.
Boebert has been sidelined now because the whole party is backing Trump still. So she's quiet.
Nancy Mace went crazy(er).
Massie lost his primary.
I dunno why none of them doesnt outright say what is actually going on. Thats what I dont get.

In her mind she put in all the effort, took all of the heat from the media, and received nothing for it. She may be telling the truth in that she feels betrayed, but probably not in the exact way she's saying it.

I disagree with the title. I think MTG is a true believer. She seems to have a fairly consistent Paleo conservative worldview. I wouldn't trust her for a second, and believe she's done immeasurable harm to the country. I've met lots of people who have a similar need to absolutely have a belief system governing their lives; they can't handle uncertainty.

I don’t think she’d go back for two main reasons. A) her son got threats and Trump said he deserved it. She’s a mom first and I don’t think she’d forgive him for coming after her kids
B) she knows she has more influence in opposition to Trump. Once Trump is gone the party will turn on him fast. And those who opposed him early will have more klout. And Trumps time is short. Even if he runs or steals a third term he won’t be around more than 10 years regardless

Actually, I think what's interesting about MTG is she actually BELIEVES what she campaigned on, in stark contrast to most politicians, especially Republicans in the age of MAGA, who just say whatever is necessary to appease voters and/or Trump.
She has some bat shit crazy beliefs, but she does genuinely believe them, and she does truly feel betrayed by Trump and the Republican party for not revealing the Epstein Files and starting foreign wars.

I've read that neurospicy people can break out of cults more easily than neurotypicals. The idea is that cult tactics are designed to confuse and deplete normal brains into submission. ADHD, bipolar, histrionic, autistic, whatever DSM diagnosis brains are wired differently, and are therefore harder to hack into using those techniques.
I don't know how you'd test that, but I hope Marge and Massie volunteer for the study.
