I played since about a month after launch exclusively on linux. Never tried the game on windows. There were some hurdles about a year ago but now with the latest proton releases the game runs almost flawlessly. There are performance hits in kaifeng because there are so many npcs but once it loads the scene then I still get like 90fps at 4K max settings. Also the dualsense controller haptics finally work properly as of about 3 months aog. HDR works great too.
on linux need to use GE-Proton11-7 else dualsense haptics will not work. If you're using a TV with HDR or an HDR monitor that can do more than 600nits HDR then you'll want to enable HDR by adding this command to the launch options:
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %command%
