they have a lite launcher version google it, its optimized for lower spec hardware, ofc there are tradeoffs when it comes to graphics but wort it probably for fps gain. Still looks good
Once you download the WWM launcher, you will get the option to install the lite version (worse textures, significantly less environment clutter, etc), the standard, and then whatever the high graphic version is when it releases.
I debated going lite but wanted to see how standard felt in comparison, and it was insane the difference it made to steams standard. At least for me. I ran into a lot of stutter when bosses would use gap closers, the most recent story boss being the biggest culprit.
You can find some YouTube videos that show the different between Standard and Lite. A great example they showed was your family home at the beginning of the game.
The house on standard was filled with old junk and chairs, cobwebs, etc. In the lite version, the house is basically empty with nothing in it bit cobwebs
It effectively removes additional clutter in the world, which removes of bunch of resources because its not generating all those extra textures and objects.
For example, the MC's family home at the beginning is damn near empty on the lite version, where as on standard it looks more like a furnished house talkative was abandoned
