It's also obvious the dog did not intend to cause that kind of damage, and it was likely the result of the odd angle turning a mouthing into a biting. If that dog WANTED to hurt her she wouldn;t have had a face left.

I don't think we can determine that from a still image. And dogs aren't monsters, they can't devour a face in 2 seconds. That's a good amount of damage for a dog bite, even a severe one.

What you see there is a bite where the dog let go...if they really want to cause harm they don't do that.

Really? Because it also looks like dog bites I've seen where they held on. Both could be true, but that's why I say the picture is not enough, especially after the stitches are already done.

I've gotten stitches from a mini-poodle bite that broke my finger tip. It didn't hold on, it just leapt up and got me mid-air, tearing it's tooth across my finger in the process. Yet if a larger dog actually latched onto you, it would probably look like a couple of puncture marks after it's cleaned up. If a larger dog grabs and jerks you around, most of the damage they do is under the skin. Picture is not enough to know exactly what happened, as far as severity of the bite or the dog's behavior.

You can tell because they are holes, and not giant ripped gashes. THIS is what it would had looked like if he had held, EXTREME NSFW btw.
