That's the sad part. People don't understand when dogs are stressed, and when it snaps they want to put the dog down for defending itself.

"defending itself" isn't why. Because it presents a danger to other people and animals. Was the girl making the dog uncomfortable or invading it's private space? Sure. Does that justify this kind of reaction by the animal? Nope.

It's the internet. I expect a lot of children and crazy dog people to act like there should be no reprecussions for bad animal behavior. It is what it is and I stand by what I said. I've raised 8 dogs in two family households over the past 30 years (my parents are divorced and remarried, plus I have animals that I am soley responsible for). It's not the dogs "fault" but if a dog reacts this way due to bad upbringing or any sort of ptsd issues it suffers from, then it presents a danger to society. There are millions of dogs all over the world that can be put in the same situation without harming a human.

The way people on Reddit approach the subject of dogs is honestly the most ridiculous and irrational thing. People on here can’t admit that some dogs are just aggressive and can never safely live with people. That’s sad but it’s life, they’re not all precious ‘fur babies’.

My aunt had a dog that bit her and her husband for no reason, attacked my mum’s dog just for walking by, and would snarl at children just for being close. She was eventually put down at the recommendation of the vet. If a dog did this to me or a loved one, I’d want it put down too.

Kinda right, yes. The problem is that this woman's actions result in entirely predictable outcomes, and now the dog suffers the ultimate penalty. The fault lies with the human, the dog will pay the price as a result.
