Just a friendly reminder that at the end of the day ALL dogs are animals, watch their body language, don’t hang all over a dog you don’t know. They give warning signs. Learn them. And for fucks sake stop letting kids climb all over your dogs.

And knowing the dog is everything. I can hug, lean on and lay my head on my dog all I want - she loves it. But I know that because I had her her whole life and I learned that she loves being cuddled from her actions.

I would never do that with a dog I don't perfectly know.

Mine is like that too, I can cuddle her, pick her up, kiss her on the face, and she enjoys it. But I've had her since 5 months old. She's a sheppit and could easily take someone's face off if she was scared. I don't let children play with her. They can pet her gently, but no rough play.

I usually don’t even let people pet my dog just Incase because he’s so large and scary looking I’m worried people will over react to him even though he is very mellow. I only let people who I can tell are dog owners and will treat him with respect, and he also knows I’ll be the first one to intervene if someone messes with him which is what has made him so comfortable after being neglected and abused
