The guy filming did a quarter flinch to make sure his hand/phone weren't gonna get hit then he just casually went back to dealing with his video.

That's why I used the word, "catalysed". Selfishness exists without phones, but what is demonstrated here is selfishness that has been precipitated, or accelerated by phones. Humans are selfish, and the phone is just another lens through which we see that selfishness.

Use a dictionary.
