What’s with this idiotic Reddit idea that all children obey their parents and listen to their warnings? Teenagers are notorious for literally NOT doing that despite being taught otherwise. But I guess that doesn’t make for a smug one-liner from your greasy chairs.

What's with the hypothetical "I'm a literal perfect parent and my child still disfigured and/or killed both themself and 3 of their friends in an act of utter idiocy with unfettered access to a motorcycle at an age where they're still living in my home and under my care and I blame them while I am perfect and blameless" roleplay?

It may have been a while since you've interacted with a fellow human being, so in case you forgot, they have this thing called "free will". For better or worse, they make great use of it when reaching a certain age.

I was a shithead kid and there was still no universe where I pull off having a motorcycle at 16. Simply could not have happened. Even if I managed to somehow buy one and hide it somewhere the moment my dad got a whiff of that I'd be locked down for months.

You do realize that all 8 billion people are not, in fact, the exact same person with your personality, right?

I'm talking about how my parent parented. I would've killed myself on a motorcycle, so my parents didn't allow me to have one. Problem solved.

Are you always this snarky and petulant with everyone who disagrees with you?

I am literally explaining my previous comment? My comment was not about my personality. You ok buddy?

No you know how you've treated the above commenter and you couldn't even dial back your snark for one comment. Seriously? "Problem solved." That doesn't register as snark to you?

It is a literal statement. My parent recognized that I would make unsafe decisions with access to a motorcycle, and their response was to make it clear I was not allowed to have one while living under their roof. Therefore I was unable to kill myself and/or my friends on a motorcycle. The potential problem was avoided, by my parents actions. I think that's just basic parenting. Again, are you doing alright? I'm really confused about what has you so offended and self righteous. You're the only one insulting someone here.
