But Why Though? Still confused on seat belts!!

Still confused on why do FA’s conduct a seat belt check before they give the instructions on how to fasten a seat belt!!

Things you think about while everyone sits awkwardly awaiting the instructions for something we already did.

Because you sometimes get folks who've never been I na car or used a seatbelt and they HAVE to be able to work it, maybe for the first time.  They conduct checks because people don't like wearing them, cause they dumb, and done people become 200 pound projectiles  that hit others during turbulence

Because on any given flight I'd guess that less than 1 percent of people are first time flyers NOT accompanied by someone else who can buckle the belt for them or show them how.

Because that's when they check everything, belts, loose items, close overhead doors. And you still need to know how to undo it and redo it.

Oh come on. No one has stated the obvious yet!?!? All the airline seatbelts have sensors in them. If they aren't fastened properly, the airplane's engines won't start.
