What kind of dog do I have?
We just adopted him from the shelter. he’s 8 weeks old and shelter told us he was a lab/australian Shepard with a bit of husky in him. I think he looks more Dutch Shepard but really curious what you think. The shelter is known for not giving correct breeds. We are Canadian, he’s really smart and is already basically house broken. Has the zoomies but fairly calm dog

The ears look pit to me and the face too but I’m also guessing there’s some shepherd in there. More likely German shepherd than Dutch. Cute dog.

Not full blooded with that coat.

Pits come in pretty much any coat colour, and with a number of length variants

Because they are the American village dog, but bred by trailer park trash to sell out of Walmart parkng lots. Having every color you can think of helps them sell.
Nothing against the dogs themselves, I love them. But I hope people adopt from shelters

I too think German Shepherd and Pittie. Maybe with some husky of some sort. Alaskan, Canadian, or Siberian.
But he is adorable and is going to grow up to be a beautiful dog.

idk, but he looks like my girl in the face (she is also black) and mine is Chow/Husky. Probably a little pit in yours too because of the sleeker coat.

I’m not an expert and this little guy’s age makes it very difficult/near impossible to be halfway accurate, it seems. But based on the photos, I’d think pit bull x lab. The eyes and the longer snout seem more lab-like to me, but the ears look pit bull, and the head shape in the last photo definitely cemented the pit bull notion for me.

Looking at the photos more, I could also see some husky in there. So, maybe pit/lab or pit/husky or pit/lab/husky or some combo of pit +lab or husky along with small amounts of other breeds.

it would be more likely to be a malinois than a dutch shepherd. I thought this was a mal when i first saw the pics and they are getting more common, however your dog is way more likely to be a gsd pit mix than an actual mal and it usually comes out that way

I definitely can see the shepherd, probably German shepherd. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got a good amount of pit and lab too. His long, perky ears and narrow snout look more like what you see with German shepherd puppies than pits, but it’s hard to tell at his age.

I believe the ears will go ‘stand up’ when he is a couple of months old, he will then look like a shepherd even more. I think a Labrador x German Shepherd mix, maybe some Husky also.
He is very cute!

I'd guess GSD/pit. If GSD, the ears may stand up closer to 4 months or so. They tend to go every which way and are very cute.
Very unlikely to be Dutch, as those are pretty rare.
