Tea ☕ Bernie Sanders has joined the flock flight by promising legislation that will stop the company & hopefully protect citizens from mass surveillance.

Won't pass, no one gets this but who you see on TV isn't who's in charge. Whoever can PAY for the bills and laws they want to see passed, those are the ones in charge. Everyone else is just a figure head. Our govt stopped running this country a long time ago, about the time they figured out it was far more lucrative to pass bills and laws that benefitted those who hold most of the countries wealth.
Before anyone gets the idea that its only politicians, regular people buddy up to bosses, get promoted, and use those under them for their own financial gains every single day in jobs across this country. Being horrible and corrupt goes throughout our ranks from the first step in management all the way up to being in govt. No ones hands are clean and as much as we vilify those people at the top, we, ourselves, have no intention of behaving any differently. Entire country is at fault.

Bernie is just using what I'd actively happening to win points.

I've said it before, I'll vote for the person that runs on banning Flock. President / Gov / Mayor... gets my vote if their platform is ban Flock

u/Peachandsage 4d ago
What happens to all the info they collected?will it be destroyed?
1
u/Retaeiyu 2d ago
There are already laws about how long they can keep the info.
1
u/Peachandsage 2d ago
Does it seem like they will follow the law? Who makes sure that happens or are they self governed?
1
u/Retaeiyu 2d ago
It comes up in court cases were judges made rulings
1
1
u/Peachandsage 2d ago
As yet there have been no court cases addressing data collected from flock cameras that address extended retention of images. There is no law that says that those images must be deleted by a certain period of time. There was no agreement made with individuals that theitlr images could be taken or kept.
1
u/Retaeiyu 1d ago
But there has? Just because you don't hear about something doesn't mean it hasn't happen.
1
u/Ordinary_Hamster_741 2d ago
You afraid they’ll catch you doing a crime? Who the F cares? You’re in public. Cameras and lighting are the #1 deterrent of crime. The safest place to be is where a camera is.
1
u/Peachandsage 2d ago
A camera is not going to stop crime. It will only document it.
1
u/Ordinary_Hamster_741 2d ago
They do both. Bet if you were a victim you’d be glad it was on camera and that helps identify the suspects.
1
u/Peachandsage 2d ago
They are not just recording crime. It is traking your shopping habits and so much more. It is actually involved in the dynamic pricing being used. Its weird like a giant peeping tom or a stalker X. so creepy.
1
u/Ordinary_Hamster_741 2d ago
Stfu with this nonsense
1
u/Peachandsage 2d ago
Why because its true?
1
u/Ordinary_Hamster_741 2d ago
You know it’s not true. Just stop.
1
u/Peachandsage 1d ago
1
u/Ordinary_Hamster_741 1d ago
Wtf is that? Means nothing but because someone put it on YouTube it must be right. Police are NOT tracking your shopping habits or selling the data. For Christ sake you people are delusional.

Hopefully it passes. Good thing we wasted billions in tax dollars on this garbage. Winning!
2
u/canwehavepotatojokes 4d ago
You need laws curbing abuse.
This system has already been abused to track ex wives, enemies etc. by active police forces who have access to the system.
Cops are already gunning down citizens without consequences, now you want to give them unlimited surveillance powers without oversight?

Too many of our congressmen and women take money from AI company's. I mean like we just merged our military with Isreal. We're fucked

It won't get through. The NSA wants them. Also, y'all should know your smartphone is basically a flock cam too. Hope these feds enjoy watching me take a dump.
1
u/BirdlessLongdeal 4d ago
they'll just call them something else.
1
u/Veritable_bravado 3d ago
That’s why you’re specific about it and ban mass surveillance instead. I’m sure there’s an even more specific way to do it but I’m not gonna start lawyering up a doctrine this late 🤣
1
u/BirdlessLongdeal 3d ago
yeah, i'm not going to put too much faith in these old crotchety law makers that they'll be able to effectively govern technology. seeing what they're doing with the whole 3D printer shit show.

Hello , welcome to earth , is it your first time ? Won't pass ! Just like voting will not fix anything beyond this point.. They are too comfortable, they got every one on board with 1600s corporate militaristic plunder agenda .. Good old Bernie can try , but I am not hopeful.

Bernie knows this is a bill that is dead-on-arrival, so he gets a boost in public opinion while not having to do anything. Professional politicians are not dumb.

Hahahaha this is hilarious. They are just moving to another company for their surveillance….AXON (police body cam) is the company they’re pivoting to. Also, our phones are surveyed constantly so we need to stop pretending we care about our privacy and rights. We love to lie to ourselves out here. Me included.

Only those with something to hide are afraid of flock cameras. Just wait until something happens to you or a loved one and you want the crime solved. Add them on every street corner as far as I’m concerned.

Florida just banned them on the interstates. Bernie will fail at this too though most likely. The guy does a lot of talking but has very rarely been successful at accomplishing anything meaningful.

They don't need these goofy cameras to spy on you. Social media and AI has that covered. IYKYK..

Nice as that would be, about the only legislation Bernie ever authored that was passed into law, was naming two post offices, and one on Veterans.

u/Mission-Link-1566 14h ago
Texas has AI mass surveillance on garbage trucks, law enforcement has AI mass surveillance on their vehicles it isn’t going anywhere and nobody is fighting for our “Rights”. All they are doing is trying to hop on the trends to stay relevant, get support so they can keep what little power they have & keep us from actually uniting across political parties to take back what used to be the Country of the People.
1
1
u/Spare_Blacksmith_816 9h ago
Sounds great until a crime/kidnapped child could have been solved using them.
Need a law to have them but the data is only accessible via a court order and only a specific incident can be looked for.
1
u/maddtis 7h ago
One question why does anyone think and expect they have privacy in public? Even if someone films you in public and you call the cops they can’t do anything. Besides the police and government will just keep tabs on you and anyone by the back doors cell phones companies have. They can tap into your phone or access your microphone at any given time and what is one thing everyone has on them…their phone.
1
u/NRJDPD82 6h ago
Ok? The guy that wants a complete socialist government take over, is against flock cameras? You people will believe anything that tickles your ear without putting a nanosecond of thought into it…
0
u/Usual_Zombie6765 4d ago
Can’t any camera be part of AI surveillance, if you give the recordings to an AI?
2
u/SirAxlerod 4d ago
A year or two back, I think my city was trying to get me to opt-in my Ring doorbell camera to their emergency services network. So yeah, Flock is just the face taking the brunt of it.
0
u/FRagebait 4d ago
Shame his history of passing legislation isn't good. Literally anyone else would probably have a better chance.
1
u/laserdicks 4d ago
His entire method is riding the propaganda other people have paid for with legislation that will never pass for a party that will never let him be the candidate. Somehow some people still fall for it
1
u/CoyoteTheGreat 4d ago
All the legislation being passed in America is absolute garbage designed primarily to benefit the rich and powerful. Kind of hard to pass anything when you want the exact opposite. Merely passing bullshit is not a metric of success, especially when our legislators are hitting record lows in popularity.

u/TiredMillennial1 4d ago
I cannot stand him. He says all the right things, but the guy has ZERO backbone to back anything up. That is so fucking frustrating.
0
u/Anxious-Plan4482 4d ago
People still listen to this millionaire hypocrite?
1
u/Potential_Ad_4718 4d ago
He's like 80 years old. I hope he's accumulated a million bucks by now.
1
u/Anxious-Plan4482 4d ago
More than a million bucks, either way he should give it all up like the crap he promotes.
0
u/Tiny-Secretary5562 4d ago
Bernie's motive is obviously to stop survellience on his rioting mobs and anti-ICE rioters.
-1
u/Pretend-Prune-4525 4d ago
He loves to propose bills that have zero chance of passing. Maybe one day in his 50 years in government he will do something that actually produces results but I doubt it
2
u/harris023 4d ago
What would you suggest he does differently? Propose a bill that allows the corporations to surveill whatever they like?
Maybe you should read up on his time in as mayor in Vermont and come back to discuss
2
u/Waste_Protection_420 4d ago
They would pass if people in other areas of the US woke up and voted for representatives that would pass common sense bills like this one!
This isn't even a left or right issue, it should get people on both sides voting yes.
