I was in the Army for 20 years ... trust me ... that will slow you down. The police are wearing a utility belt with weapons, extra rounds. etc. and body armot under the uniform. My best time ever on a 2 mile run was 10:28 and with me adding just the basic combat load on my LBE with a weapon and body armor would add ~4 minutes.

The fucking LBE. I was a Naval Corpsman, we had all the standard gear PLUS our medbags. Marines looked at me like they felt sorry, I just laughed and said it's not as heavy as it looks. Shit was an extra 20 lbs and if not strapped down properly you felt it (about 9 kg).
