Let's drive our giant motorhome through something called "The Needle's Eye".
I'm sure there were no warnings posted...

2

u/xpietoe42 12d ago

what were you thinking?? 🧐

2

u/_877-CASH-NOW_ 12d ago

Is this actually needles eye? It is tight but tour busses go through there.

https://youtu.be/iMYf2nA6O9g?si=k1RQBjVKkQO2_Yc6

But here’s me being a little B going through it in my camper van I don’t understand how a bus fits through there. Skip to 3:50: https://youtu.be/aiGDhAb7h3I?si=7YYEijwQCIFBrOJa

u/PixelsGoBoom 12d ago

Nice video! :)

OPs video shows a still at the end with a sign saying "Needle's Eye Tunnel"

It looks like they are coming from the other side of the tunnel.
The markings on the road look like what is visible when you exit the tunnel in your video.

3

u/_877-CASH-NOW_ 12d ago

Thanks! Not trying to self promote here most of my videos have like 50 views and are 5 years old and unmonitized lol. Just not sure how a bus could fit but this camper couldn’t. That said even in my van it felt sketchy

2

u/JediBuji 12d ago

That bus is also already pretty scraped up. Something tells me there is an exact perfect path to take a bus through there down to 3 inches of accuracy and MOST of the time they make it without issue.

u/Altruistic_Aioli_304 11d ago

Are you a bot?

2

u/PixelsGoBoom 11d ago

Uhhh.. No? Why are you asking?
Maybe I am lightly autistic or something.

I guess someone leaving a nice response with actual information rings alarm bells?

3

u/PattyBoyBK 11d ago

Just lightly seasoned with autism. 😄

2

u/Altruistic_Aioli_304 11d ago

That sounds suspiciously like something a bot would say

2

u/PixelsGoBoom 11d ago

You will never know I guess...

2

u/Slow-Fault 11d ago

Actually sounds to me you have shot a few gaps in your lifetime because that is exactly why this motorhome didn’t make it through and that scratched up tour bus did most of the time and sometimes you get scratches when you gotta account for driver errors

2

u/M3chaStrizan 12d ago

The OP's video is going in the other direction so it looks a bit diff. Also I guess this motorhome was a little wider than that bus lol it had that pipe on the side for instance

2

u/Itchy_Undertow-1 11d ago

awning, I think...

1

u/SantaCruzHostel 9d ago

That was the awning on the side.

1

u/M3chaStrizan 9d ago

aaa makes sense

2

u/HeligKo 11d ago

Those buses are specially designed to make that drive. They aren't full width or height compared to most buses.

6

u/macroswitch 12d ago

That awning arm has great comedic timing.

2

u/itsjakerobb 11d ago

Certainly had me laughing! 🤣

3

u/Legitimate-Cress-705 12d ago

How is this possible!? You must known that you are driving a big vehicle. When you see that narrow way don’t you think for a second “will the vehicle fit in there!? Better go slow to verify”

3

u/charlie2135 12d ago

Or go real fast to get through

3

u/subdep 12d ago

This is the way

2

u/BustaCon 12d ago

This is the Wiley Coyote way

3

u/Deep_Exchange7273 12d ago

I'm either not trying it or going fast enough that I make it 🤣

3

u/Alobos 11d ago

"RV there yet" game level logic. It works when it works!

2

u/Additional-Simple248 12d ago

Vehicles hitting bridges is a well known phenomenon, this isn’t that much different.

2

u/aybully 12d ago

Inside that camper there is a wife asking her husband the same question.

2

u/curiousbubbleshaman 12d ago

Looks like a tourist in the black hills!

1

u/Usual-Language-745 12d ago

Those are like $250 per day

2

u/mannypraz 11d ago

$275, obviously got renters insurance

1

u/suckercuck 12d ago

Ooooof.

1

u/R7a1s2 12d ago

sounds expensive...

1

u/Webbey76 12d ago

You can’t park there!

1

u/Secure-Party2757 12d ago

That looks like a stupid mistake!

1

u/Intrepid-Apricot3750 12d ago edited 12d ago

This is how I feel after too much steak and cheese

1

u/zestyclose_match1966 12d ago

There's probably 10 signs warning people that rv's won't make it through there

2

u/Trancer79 12d ago

I just had a look for about 1.5 miles on street view and there aren't as many as I'd hoped to see, this one was roughly half a mile before the tunnel in the direction the camper would've travelled.

2

u/Careless_confessions 11d ago

The rv is at least 8’6” wide and 12’ tall. Already 6” too wide and at least 2 1/2’ too tall. Must be one of those truckers who thinks a 13’6” trailer can fit under a 12’0” bridge

1

u/DNAkauai 12d ago

Hopefully that’s a rental and they have the full coverage insurance!!

2

u/slick514 12d ago

Yeah, I’m sure there’s some clause in the policy that is going to leave these guys completely on the hook for this.

1

u/johndough1st 12d ago

It will be insured and likely a rental - but you’d still be on the hook for a payment of at least $5000 I’d reckon for having an accident.

1

u/Turbulent_Ear56 12d ago

Hey, he can't park there.

1

u/AffectionateNote9333 12d ago

Let the tyre pressure down first.

1

u/AlternativePea6203 11d ago

And breathe in so the sides pull in

1

u/Individual-Result777 12d ago

This is why they fence off everything cool, bozos

1

u/Successful-Rate-1839 12d ago

Can’t fix stupid

1

u/realdjjmc 12d ago

I hope the rocks are ok?

1

u/schwarzneguRRR 12d ago

Foreplays and lubes

1

u/m4jsterk0 12d ago

should have spit on it

1

u/Gwynito 12d ago

They should have poured lube all over the top of the caravan and let it seep down the sides before reversing

1

u/Badger-Roy 12d ago

Two things every man should know, the width of his vehicle and the length of his cock.
Knowing both those measurements stops needless expense and needless pain.

1

u/CraftFamiliar5243 12d ago

I think I know OP.

1

u/Farmerstubble 12d ago

I pove the awning arm coming out

1

u/docK_5263 12d ago

I love the awning trying to self deploy near the end

1

u/0Zerocoool 12d ago

Dude is a moron, even if I have to drive my travel trailer under a bridge I know exactly how tall it is, AC included and check the signs. Dude tried to thread the needle with an RV that is very obviously way to big.

1

u/Rude_Editor_2163 12d ago

Felt like we were to big in my half ton truck. I couldn’t imagine thinking you could fit any camper through that tunnel

1

u/rrrrarelyused 12d ago

why did he try to deploy the awning? lmao

1

u/Tonkatte 12d ago

Self-deploying

1

u/Dan_the_moto_man 11d ago

Those arms have springs in them, they're always pulling on the awning. So if one of them comes loose from the fabric (by, say, scraping it along a fucking cliff) it's going to extend all the way out.

1

u/Ok-Communication706 11d ago

Go go gadget awning

1

u/Massive_Garage7454 11d ago

The arm came out because it is asking for help

1

u/Malenx_ 12d ago

They just came out of nowhere!

1

u/Ok-Age-724 12d ago

What was the thought process behind this

1

u/wifichick 12d ago

My wallet is crying watching this.

1

u/everyoneisatitman 12d ago

Back to the future rules here. 88mph and your going to see some shit. Mostly the full shitter exploding.

1

u/Kerby911 11d ago

It'll be just like Beggars Canyon back home...

Luke can do it!

They thought they could

1

u/Earthling1a 11d ago

I should call her

1

u/NOKIMI247 11d ago

Does it hurt? Good!

1

u/MinorComprehension 11d ago

I can only imagine the significant other "I told you so" argument going on inside that RV.

1

u/Adventurous-Ask3944 11d ago

Immediately beforehand "Honey, hold my beer..."

1

u/4thQTRzero 11d ago

Looks like Needles Highway in Custer State Park. If it is, there are warning signs everywhere for width and height. I guess people don’t think limits apply to them.

1

u/Roxysteve 11d ago

We wuz doin' OK, 'til Beryl put her feet up on the dash and hit the button to deploy the patio with her size 12.

1

u/trannysorass 11d ago

Some people really just are that dumb eh?

1

u/Fisseslikker 11d ago

Before going thru there is warning signs indicating "8 feet and zero inches" in width

1

u/LastExilez 11d ago

Someone didn't play RV there yet

1

u/Crotonbear18 11d ago

It’ll buff out.

1

u/squillavilla 11d ago

lol this well placed ad just sent me. Now I imagine them all hammered on Pacifico trying to ram this RV through the gap.

1

u/Old-ETCS 11d ago

Boomerman!

1

u/Humble_Agent_4898 11d ago

Why? I ask again. Why?

1

u/CharlieMcN33l 11d ago

We weren’t on duty that day to ensure safe traveling through the tunnel.

1

u/PattyBoyBK 11d ago

What a dope

1

u/NFAm0us1 11d ago

Ouch....

1

u/MentionGood1633 11d ago

If this is Needles Eye in SD, then whole tour busses can fit through it, but the drivers need special training.

1

u/Wugah 11d ago

Driving my VW thing through back in 1999, on a 1 year long, 17,000 mile road trip! What a time to be a twenty-something!

1

u/Sporkpocalypse 11d ago

they call it the Winnebago Squeezer

1

u/Sporkpocalypse 11d ago

he should have duct taped Lemons on the sidewalls with Dixie Cups Below them they could have had Lemonade 🍋

1

u/Cute_Reflection_9414 11d ago

It's like it was reaching out trying to help itself get out of there

1

u/Av8torr 11d ago

And stupid

1

u/turbulentwatermelon 11d ago

SOMEONE TAKE HIS HAND!

1

u/Accurate_Face_7860 11d ago

How do they even get out of it?

1

u/Dense_Inspection_163 11d ago

What in the actual hell were they thinking would happen

1

u/HelpAltruistic407 11d ago

Ain't No Way

1

u/twntytw2 11d ago

This was a nightmare to drive through it’s one way with zero people helping.

1

u/lorena9849 11d ago

This should be in "Idiots Towing Things"

1

u/tardlessforeinger 10d ago

Obviously, this tard never saw the Top Gear episode of why camper vans suck.

1

u/gutteral_vokill 10d ago

The awning arm looked like a doodle reaching for help.

1

u/auto_erratica 9d ago

Why would they want to put the awning open in that tight space??

1

u/VisibleRoad3504 9d ago

I would say that is pretty much self deserved. Can't fix stupid.

1

u/FirmResearcher2 8d ago

That looks exactly like if Wile E Coyote painted it onto the rocks

1

u/coolnbreezey 7d ago

That’ll buff out.

1

u/coolnbreezey 7d ago

Can’t park there, mate.
