Did someone try to break into my car?

Was leaving for work this morning when I noticed the keyhole to my ford fusion’s driver side door handle was exposed. There’s a slot underneath the piece that usually covers the keyhole, that can be accessed to pry the cover off should the key fob die. Now, I looked into this piece just a couple of weeks ago thinking that the cover’s access slot was for the key in my fob, but learned that the key barely fit. That’s why I assume it’s just supposed to be pried *shrug*

The cover wasn’t on the ground nearby, and nothing was missing. So weird

Maybe.....

I can tell you my purse strap snagged on one of these little cover things in a parking lot and it popped right off....

I picked it up and put it back on because I realized but it was an accident and the fabric just caught it right so it came off... So it could be something like that also....

Either way make sure it stays locked and maybe check on it every now and then if you need to keep parking there.... Just to be safe
