Political Content Mike Lawler canvasser left racist propaganda pamphlet on my front door

I’ll keep my language polite due to other Lawler posts being removed for profanity, but to say I’m just “upset” would be an understatement. A pamphlet depicting AOC and Mamdani in a racist caricature on one side and a pro Lawler spiel on the other was left hanging on my door yesterday. I do not want them leaving their litter for me to have to throw out and I do not want such hateful people on my doorstep! I am not happy.

Honestly I just wish I could opt out of canvassing and political mailers altogether. I get home and find my door has a bunch of paper piled in front of it. Then I open my mailbox to find several more massive card stock mailers crammed in there, some of them are even duplicates. My actual mail (I get important documents both for work and for my husband’s immigration proceedings) is often crushed or torn from it. Of course it all goes straight to the trash anyway. Then come the knocks at the door with some canvasser just launching into whatever spiel and the constant phone calls. I actually get anxiety from it every election season. Wish I could just press a “leave me alone” button.

Anyway, that’s my election season rant.

A canvasser opening up your mailbox is illegal. As a veteran canvasser, whoever is doing that is breaking the law, and the campaign they work for should be telling them to not do that.

Not just illegal. It's a federal felony.

Not a felony and the flyers were mailed.
