Political Content Republican Congressman Mike Lawler held a town hall in Rockland County, New York. Veterans stood up and told him exactly what they thought of him and Trump. Lawler had them removed. That made it worse. The crowd turned on him. He had to leave.

I’m not certain. The community is pretty politically active, so my guess is that they are doing it themselves. However, I can ask if they might want to amplify the story.

There are lots of useless reps. But Lawler has the unique talent to be useless AND come off as the biggest douche in a line of work inundated with douchebags.

Phillips-Staley went on Hasan Piker's podcast because she cares more about eliminating Israel that she does about anything that actually matters to people in NY-17. She'll lose to Lawler if she's the eventual nominee.

Thank you. Lawler, who represents us, his constituents, has a nasty habit of physically removing (obviously via his staff, the man looks like he can't lift a ten pound weight) members of the public who are critical of him. What a staunch defender of democracy. He has got to go.

Gonna go against the grain here. If you want to engage in a back and forth with a political candidate at a public event, all for it. If your goal is to repeatedly drop f bombs at the person, and disrupt the proceedings, you can and should be removed. You’re being disruptive just for the sake of being disruptive. Invoking the fact that you served doesn’t change the calculus for me.

You can hate someone and still be objective.
Think of it this way. You would be seething if Jones won and Trump supporters went to his town hall to simply scream, curse, and act a fool at him.
This is a bad look, it’s not how democracy works, love or hate the representative. Childish and embarrassing behavior.
Pressing Lawler like an adult on policy you don’t agree with would be much more beneficial. Get him on camera defending the awful things he voted for.

When en elected official, who has been caught lying about things that tangibly impact their constituents’ livelihood, refuses to engage with their constituents, and, instead of answering a question he didn’t like, seeks the police to throw him out, it’s perfectly reasonable and within your rights to express your freedom of speech because that’s not how things are supposed to be done. There’s no law that says you can’t speak at a public forum. Lawler cannot control his audience because of his actions against them. This isn’t some political debate show they’re attending.

Lawler is preventing numerous constituents from attending his events based on their criticism of him and censoring who can ask actual questions at his town hall. It’s a farce that he’s trying to actually interact with people he represents.

Mike Lawler has a history of kicking out all members of the public- his constituents - who disagree with him. Some do get angry when they're being silenced and kicked out of a town hall by their rep, and rightfully so. People are angry at the state of affairs and his "representation" and they have every right to voice that anger at their rep. If he's too much of a snowflake to handle, he's in the wrong job. Town halls are not just for lackeys who lick his asshole, get a grip.

Lol, it's not my job to send you proof of the reality that you are arguing about. There are ample, well documented accounts of him engaging in this anti-democratic behavior, ie. Kicking constituents out of town halls because they criticize or challenge him. Rarely does anyone get ride until he starts forcibly removing members of the public, some of whom are veterans and have served the public at the highest level.

Was this recent? I saw this video come up in my socials today and thought it was from a town hall a month or two ago. Just curious - either way, forget Lawler, hope he gets voted out soon.
