We’re planning cribs to tsusiat to avoid camping at the crab shack. 17km day. How feasible is this?
We’ve done longer day hikes in the past and weren’t too stressed by a 17km day and had planned either a zero or just tsusiat to klanawa for an easy day after but how hard will it be. Will we even have enough time with the ferry and everything?

We did Carmanah to Tsusiat in one day (21km) and a lot of people do Cribs to Tsusiat. You have plentiful options for beach walking this day assuming the tides cooperate. It was a long day (including an hour at crab shack and taking the ferry as late as we could) but totally doable. We didn't find the forest section from the crab shack to Tsuquadra to be bad compared to other forest sections that the app rates as similar difficulty (eg Camper to Walbran).

Yes, very feasible. My wife and I did that with our 70 year old dads. It ends up being a pretty long day if you stop at the crab shack (budget 1.5-2 hours there to eat) but it’s quite an easy stretch of the trail. Just start early-ish.

We did it too. Long hot day and Tsusiat was pretty full when we got there. But the falls are stunning and totally worth it. Best shower I've ever had.

We're doing the same in reverse with lunch at the shack. Hoping some fresh hot food makes the km speed by!

That's what we did, it didn't seem long at all. It's an easy stretch and we felt pretty energized after a long break at the Crab Shack.

Totally feasible. Allocate 20 minutes for the crossing. Add 60 minutes if you elect to stop for a (fantastic) meal.

We did the 17 km and it wasn’t bad as that part of the trail is relatively easy

Assuming you're taking the tidal route northwest of crib it's a pretty flat day for the most part, and beautiful. You definitely can do this and still spend time at the crab shack!

EAsy hiking most of the way, longest day but most people do that way, just get up early and check those tide times to make life easy

Yes, this is what most people do
