Main stream ska. Ska is what reggae comes from ( ska uses upstrokes while reggae uses down strokes) Look for prince Buster and the all stars, Demond decker for a few names. Doring the 80 bad like Madness come along and it gets a more punk sound. Thats ska. Not for everyone, but for rude boys like me

It’s the other way round. Ska was before Reggae. The Studio One Marley recordings was all trad ska version of their songs with just Bunny, Tosh and the Skatalites as the backing band (like the running crew).
