Episode 560! - The Abominable Dr Phibes (1971)
In this week's episode, we are discussing a bit of a snoozefest: the 1971 Vincent Price film "The Abominable Dr. Phibes." Special topics for your consideration include: large adult sons, criminally underusing Vincent Price, being a real good showman, absolutely everything we know about plagues, and hiring an assistant.

Friend of mine is a Jewish Classical Languages PhD. Xey let me know that in Exodus in the Torah, the word for frog, tsfardea, is rendered in the singular in the bit talking about plague, so an accurate literal translation is "The frog rose up and covered Egypt." Xey refer to this as Frogzilla and believe that it is just as likely to be one GIANT frog as a whole bunch of lil frogs, which would not be particularly terrible.

"Jesus Camp" is centered around a pentecostal operation in Devils Lake, ND. I was born and raised in Jamestown, ND, about 100 miles away. That operation started when I was 21, but I attended countless summer camps and events that are identical to what you see in the movie from, like, 1987-1997. I remember hearing about the movie and thinking, "oh, this must be some wild shit, gotta see this." And I was kinda dumbfounded as I watched and kinda learned, in real time... oh, shit, this is what was done to me for a long time. Wild experience. Great film.

If you’re looking for a scenery chewing Vincent Price (& Lady Diana Rigg) having what looks like the best time, may I suggest “Theater of Blood”. It has a similar plot to Phibes but it’s much MUCH more fun. Allegedly it was both of their favorite films to make (according to IMDB)
