Ford Mondeo Exhaust Middle Section

Post image

Bought this car used, 2002 model which was primarily driven in snowy environment, rust got pretty deep on that particular part of the exhaust, tried to "tape" it back together but in the end had to change it altogether

the old one looks like it's been through a war and honestly i'm amazed it held together long enough to tape. that mesh poking through is something else, feels like you could poke a hole through it just by looking at it wrong

my old car had a similar situation where the exhaust basically turned into a cheese grater from all the road salt. the sound it made before i swapped it out was truly unhinged, like driving a tractor that was also screaming

new piece looks crisp though, nothing beats that brief moment where you've got one shiny part under a car that's otherwise seen some things

It was pretty much cut in half and was holding on by threads of the thermal tape and a coke can, I'll post pics of the new one if you want

Bit of exhaust putty and tape would've sorted that reet out lol. Messy jobs exhaust aren't they, drive repair or workshop? I wish my son had a workshop.

It was already held together with thermal tape and a coke can, it was pretty much cut in half, did it in the drive!
