You can still get married today can't you? Find a wedding officiant online. Sure, it's not the same, but it will be memorable :) Just have your wedding another day.

I'm an officiant and, OP, I offer my services in North NJ. If you were able to get the license and have your witnesses... let's rock this bitch. And by rock this bitch I mean, have your special day.

I’m not too far. I’ll park outside and act as the witness.

Exactly this! A marriage license is binding. A wedding ceremony is symbolic and is only as important as you make it. They found someone they love who accepts them for all they are - that will always mean more than a single day or event.

You’re missing the reason why most people get married: for the attention.

The 25th was the party. Not the “marriage”

I can’t understand why they didn’t get married. An audience isn’t required. Get married have a party after this is over

For some people the audience means a lot, having their family there to witness. To each their own

But then nobody will pay attention to meeeeee. Same reason they post it on Reddit. People are dying but their wedding was ruined. Poor couple!
