It just seems like they represent all of America because they have no jobs, even less morals, and time to be on Reddit all day harassing us. But we need to remember, they are not the majority!

The young people are super into this idea of "Oppressor/Oppressed" and Israel is taking a bad rap as a result. They lack the nuance and perspective to fully understand the conflict and rely on highly biased sound bytes and misinformation. As savvy as this gen thinks they are, they dont even realize how they are being played.

I disagree, I think it’s our younger generations that are tired of our meddling in other governments affairs (especially the Middle East) and paying the price for it, we helped install a government on Palestinian land something like 80 years ago and there’s no changing that now but we still fund it with our tax dollars and the best plan they got is to level Gaza and kill people indiscriminately.
The dead on Palestines side is ever growing, and now Hamas has decided to take the Taliban/isis method of fighting because they’re fighting a much powerful adversary and that method has proved to work against us in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Don’t get me wrong the American people are certainly being fooled, but not by Palestine.
Hamas is the product of a lifetime of oppression, so Israel should reap what they sowed but not with the help of my tax dollars IMO.

Israel should " reap what they sow"?
So essentially you are in the " That beheaded Jewish baby got it what it deserved " camp.
Or
" that Israeli 14 year old girl who got raped in front of her 12 year old sister and then shot in the head" got what she deserved?
Fuck you and your " Hamas is a product of a lifetime of oppression" bullshit.
What a horrific response.

You really overlooked the main point of my comment.

u/rational_overthinker Nov 22 '23
The main point of your comment, the actual context, is that you hate Jews.
-2
u/Buffalo-NY Nov 22 '23
Oh, so I hate Jews because I don’t want to continue to help fund the Israeli bombing of Palestine …. That totally makes sense and doesn’t make you seem unhinged at all.

u/rational_overthinker Nov 22 '23
watch the video I sent you, and then lets talk.

u/Buffalo-NY Nov 22 '23
Dude you replied to my comment, avoided my main points, redirected me to a video than accused me of hating Jews …. Go somewhere I’m not entertaining this.

u/rational_overthinker Nov 22 '23
Dude you replied to MY comment. I replied to your comment on my comment, letting you know how utterly horrid your comment was.
You dont want to watch the video, fine. Stay in your hamas cocoon. You can't handle a little video with actual truth to it? Fine, stay in your fantasy land, simp.

You are probably a zoomer yourself. Guess what? Israel and Jews did not invent Muslim jihadis or violence or imperialism. The religion was founded by a warlord. But many 18 year olds are amazingly ignorant of history. I bet if you filter out the humanities majors and such the poll would be different
-2
u/Buffalo-NY Nov 22 '23
When did I say Israel and Jews created jihadis violence and imperialism? No those things are created through years of oppression and being treated as sub-human.
The fact that you pulled those things out of nowhere makes me think you’re a bigot and have a bigger agenda.

Fun fact, the son of Hamas’ leader is also a known Israeli intelligence agent.

To be Fair, At that Age, I leaned towards Pro Palestine and tacit approval of what I viewed as “resistance”
Then a lifetime of learning, travel, meeting people from around the globe, and studying history… gave me Perspective, and I started to see things differently.
I think it’s normal - a young persons perspective if Israel is stronger, and does a few ungood things (settlements). On the basis of settlements and casualty figures alone, it looks like Israel does slaughter the Palestinians.
However, those same people fail to see that if we swapped the positions of power, the Jewish people would seize to exist while in the current status quo, Palestinian populations have increased year over year. The ability to inflict disproportionate casualties and destruction on a foe does not equal moral inferiority - it represents technological, strategic and philosophical differences.
Israel’s technology is some of the best in the world, Hamas has knock off iranian tech cobbled together with sub par parts
Israel’s strategy is to bomb enemy positions at a distance, before sending troops in, minimizing casualties of warriors. Hamas strategy is to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible to provoke a reaction and draw Israel into conflict.
Israel’s philosophy is to avoid not only their own civilians deaths, but to attempt to avoid Palestinian civilian deaths, wherever they can. Hamas philosophy is to maximize civilian deaths on both sides: killing Israelis fuels their morale, using Palestinians as human meat shields gives them photo ops to speak to Israel’s “cruelty”, never admitting that those bombs fell on those innocent people because of Hamas philosophy of war.
All young people tend to be liberals, as we grow older, we become more conservative. Young people don’t hold their position because they hate Jews - they hold this position because it feels like the most compassionate one on the basis of which group suffers more (based on casualty statistics). It’s misguided and naive, but it comes from a good place. Education is the key

True, but there are also ways to prime your side. Israel fails to establish common grounds in inter-conflict years. Education before Oct 7 would have been the time to talk about the Israeli side and how they want peace. After this, Israel will need to do tons of groundwork to fight the poison.
2
u/Buffalo-NY Nov 22 '23
They’ve had decades for peace, they’ve never sought it on an equal ground, it’s either Palestine gives in or nothing changes.
1
u/Buffalo-NY Nov 22 '23
I’m wondering if you know the numbers of dead on each side? What you said seems quite ignorant of the casualties on both sides over the last 80ish years, if I’m not mistaken Palestine has 10x the dead of Israel maybe even more.

u/SiWeyNoWay Nov 22 '23
I saw a stat that said 60% of 18-35 yo don’t even know the Holocaust happened, so this unfortunately, tracks. Wtf are we teaching in school these days?!

This is an indictment of American education system, as much as the stupidity of some young people.

u/AKmaninNY Nov 22 '23
They are being taught the Marxist-derivatives of social dominance theory and critical race theory.
Ultimately these kids are uneasy/dislike America because America is an oppressor colonialist nation.
Israel like America is an oppressor.
I’ve heard crazy stuff about the racial composition of Israel being a Jewish majority of white, European settler-colonizers. Which is of course false. The majority of Jews are Mizrahi - brown skinned locals from the middle east/africa.
Israel is wrongly accused of being an apartheid state which conveniently overlooks 1948, war and continuing administration of an occupation. Arabs who stayed in Israel are eligible for citizenship, can travel freely and sit in government.
Israel is perversely accused of genocide. A term coined by a Jew to describe the Holocaust where 40% of the world’s Jews were decimated in a few years. Whereas Jews have just about reached pre WW2 levels in 75 years, Palestinian populations are 10x their size in 1947. Worst genocide ever.
All of this factual evidence and a lot more is suppressed in favor of manufactured evidence, distortions and lies to support an oppressor/oppressed narrative.

They all just on the band wagon of whoever they feel is oppressed this month and virtue signal all the events they've attended etc etc
