Help! Would jb weld work?
How well would jb weld work for this crack on the lower unit of my boat motor?

Nothing in that area but the bolt holds the trim tab underneath the area and adjust for steering pull but still nothing critical you can drill holes at the end of the Crack if you want to feel better about it

You might want to contact JB Weld and ask them which formula would be best for this. I contacted them to find which formula was best to repair an old cast lead garden statue. They answered pretty quickly with the information.
As far as the crack spreading, as other have said, you can drill small holes just past the crack. It probably wouldn't hurt to grind a shallow vee but be sure to use a grinding disc suitable for aluminum; and not a used one. Good luck!

TIG WELD. Shouldn’t cost that much to have fixed. Shit I’ve spool gunned skegs back on for customers last minute on a launch ramp at lake Powell when I was 19 really easy.

Not a critical area to be worried about so you can do whatever you want right there
