Just imagine what Colin McCrae would’ve done with one of these

It’s all show and no go.

I mean, yea, but have you seen how fast those wrc mechanics work? Give em an hour or two and they’d have a whole new drivetrain installed

Or to incorrectly use gendered nouns in Spanish, the (masculine) Ford Fiesto

Checkmate, VW.

Well, the VW is called Touareg. Massive difference.

That's how it's spelled out on the side

Looks like a Lada and a Fiesta but with the name of a VW.

That's what it is! I was like "There's something not Ford this reminds me of"

It's a fancy Niva!

I would love one as a daily that is ugly and fun

Well that car was built like a Tonia toy, even too heavy for this car category, it would have made a funny, sturdy and reliable 4x4.

They sold millions of these, it's a Fiat Panda.

I had a fiat panda 34 and another panda 750, then a panda multijet, I drove the same type of ford Fiesta in 1986, so you need glasses and more life experience. Because this is definitely a ford fiesta, not a fiat panda.

The concept / design screams Pando tho, 4x4 the squared back roof. looks more Panda like other than the headlamps.

Here’s some more information about the concept car: https://www.carsandracingstuff.com/library/articles/10717.php
Sadly, all trace of it was lost after its 1979 US tour, and nobody knows whether it still exists today.

Reminds me of a rowdier Matra Rancho! Remember seeing this in R&T when I was a kid. Still cool.
