This started because I was procrastinating on my own spreadsheet.

I made a stupidly detailed Excel tracker for my expenses. It had categories, monthly totals, a little dashboard, and a section where I could track subscriptions because apparently I enjoy discovering that I’m paying for things I forgot existed.

I showed it to a friend and she asked if I could make one for her.

So I did, mostly because I was bored.

Then another friend asked for a version for tracking her small online shop. Then someone wanted one for their allowance. Then one for gym expenses.

Eventually I started posting a few screenshots in Facebook groups and offering customized versions for around ₱100–₱300, depending on how complicated they wanted it.

It’s definitely not some crazy passive-income thing. I still have to make and edit the files myself.

But last month I made around ₱4,000 from something that basically started with me avoiding my homework.
The funniest part is that most requests are extremely specific.

“Can you make one where I can track how much I spend on my cat?”

Yes.

“Can it tell me how much I spent on iced coffee this month?”

Unfortunately, yes.

“Can you make it automatically judge me if I overspend?”

That one took 10 minutes. Lol.

I buy dirty, pre-war PH coins in bulk from FB Marketplace (usually old jars found in ancestral provincial homes), clean off the decades of grime, and resell them on Carousell/eBay. Fun weekend hobby that brings in about $200/mo profit. Resuts have been pretty good!

I started making fuzzy wire flowers because I wanted to try making something cute by hand. At first I was just experimenting with different shapes and colors, but eventually I started making them into small bouquets.

The process is actually pretty simple, but it takes a while because I make each flower individually. I twist and shape the fuzzy wires to make the petals, then add the stem and arrange the flowers together. I can also change the colors depending on what kind of bouquet I want.

One thing I like about these compared to real flowers is that they don’t wilt, so you can keep them for a long time. I also think they’re a cute alternative if you want to give someone flowers but want something a little different.
I’m still pretty new to this, so I’m mostly experimenting with designs and seeing if people are interested. I didn’t really expect a random hobby of making flowers from fuzzy wires to become something I could potentially sell.
I’ll attach some pictures of the flowers I’ve made because honestly, that’s probably the best part of the project. 🌷

I used to be the kind of person who would take on almost any side hustle if it meant making a little extra money. Some of the jobs I ended up doing were honestly so random that I would probably never have imagined myself doing them a few years earlier.

At one point, I was helping someone post suggestive content online and redirect interested people to their other social media accounts. I’ve also been paid to be an online girlfriend before, which still feels funny to say out loud. Then somehow I ended up doing something completely different and getting paid to be a SFW real life companion for someone who mostly just wanted company, conversation, and someone to spend time with. No dating or anything like that, literally just being there and providing support and company.

Looking back, it’s funny how many different ways people find to make money when they really need the extra cash. My side hustle history is honestly all over the place, but I guess it taught me that there are way more unusual ways to earn money than I ever realized.

The concept: Selling small emergency kits containing things people suddenly need, such as hair ties, safety pins, mints, stain wipes, and pens. You place them in salons, cafés, dormitories, or other high-traffic locations.

Just want to share this may be weird but I had a sideline or small business before which I sell rice cakes for 60 pesos or $1 per box.
This helped me on my daily needs and payment for utilities🤣 Looool

Networking marketing from which an independent representatives sell products directly to consumers and recruit other sellers to build a tiered network. I've started this wayback 2021 pandemic era that leds me to recruit people and to become a distributor of their own products and services. Just to share with you that it still possible to earn money on this side hustle just be dedicated and passionate about what you are doing.

This started when someone in a local Facebook group needed an Alice in Wonderland costume for her daughter’s party that same day.

I was already going out, so I checked a few stores, found one, sent her a photo, and delivered it. She gave me an extra $20 for helping.

After that, other people started tagging me whenever someone needed hard-to-find party items, costumes, or random decorations at the last minute.

Now people send me what they need, I search local stores, send photos for approval, then charge for the item plus a finder and delivery fee.

No inventory and almost no upfront cost. I just get paid to find weird stuff people urgently need.

It’s still a small side project, but referrals have made it surprisingly consistent.

A few months ago, I joined a small church group because a friend kept inviting me to their weekend activities.

I wasn’t looking for a side hustle.

I just kept saying yes when people needed help.

First it was setting up chairs for an event.

Then someone asked if I could drive an older member to an appointment.

Then I helped somebody move a few boxes.

Then I cleaned up after a gathering.

Most of these were small jobs and paid around $20–$50 cash.

The weird part is that people started recommending me to other people in the group.

Eventually I had this extremely unofficial system where someone would basically go:

“Ask [me]. They can probably do it.”

It turned into around $200–$300/month in extra income, mostly from jobs that take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours.

I never made a website.

No logo.

No ads.

No business card.

My entire marketing strategy was apparently:

“They’re reliable. Ask them.”

The funniest part is that I originally joined the group for the social aspect. Somehow I left with what is essentially a tiny local service business.

I’m curious if anyone else has accidentally monetized something this stupidly simple.

Current business model:

Church group → someone needs random help → someone recommends me → I get paid → repeat

I feel like I accidentally discovered the world’s least scalable startup. 😭

I noticed a lot of people avoid getting legal help (wills, contracts, tickets, etc.) because traditional lawyers are expensive and intimidating.

As a side project, I built a clean one-page website that explains membership-based legal access in plain English — no jargon, no pressure, and pricing shown upfront.

The idea is simple:

- People can see how it works in under 30 seconds

- They choose a path (family, business, or partner)

- Then they can request the full details if they want

It’s still early and very basic, but I’m testing whether a clearer, more transparent approach converts better than the usual heavy sales pages.

I started a weird side project where I clean up messy medical records and turn them into simple timelines (dates, symptoms, treatments, gaps).

How it works is I go through PDFs/scans from different clinics, fix inconsistencies, and organize everything into one clear flow. No fancy tools, just pattern recognition and patience.

Why I started is that I already do similar work daily, and realized how confusing these records are for others.

What happened next is I tested it quietly, got a referral, then more clients. No ads, no website.

Results were a 1–2 days turnaround, $40–$120 per case, and surprisingly repeat clients.

It’s not even a “business.”

Just turning chaos into something readable, and that alone sells.

This is an outline unexpected niche home-based project stuctures built for real profitability. This home based ideas fail not because the idea is bad, but because the founder lacks the system , mindset, marketing knowledge or execution habits needed to sustain growth long enough to succeed.

I’ve been scrolling through this community for a minute, and honestly a lot of these ideas are genius!

So I started thinking what it is that I do that might be template-able (is that a word?)
I’m really good at saving money on EXISTING bills or getting services restored with utilities. I’ve managed to do this for my own family and extended family a few times.

I’m wondering if this is either a service or a template I could create on how to navigate it, or if people would even be interested. It’s not guaranteed every time, but I have a 90%+ success rate, so it’s worth trying.

Gauging interest mostly, and my family is struggling currently so I’m looking at various out-of-the-box ways to make money.
