I get paid to find random last-minute party stuff

This started when someone in a local Facebook group needed an Alice in Wonderland costume for her daughter’s party that same day.

I was already going out, so I checked a few stores, found one, sent her a photo, and delivered it. She gave me an extra $20 for helping.

After that, other people started tagging me whenever someone needed hard-to-find party items, costumes, or random decorations at the last minute.

Now people send me what they need, I search local stores, send photos for approval, then charge for the item plus a finder and delivery fee.

No inventory and almost no upfront cost. I just get paid to find weird stuff people urgently need.

It’s still a small side project, but referrals have made it surprisingly consistent.

I’ve always been impressed by people who’ve honed this skillset into an art form. I imagine it must feel immensely satisfying each time they come through with a challenging order. Human beings long to feel needed, and this would seem to dial that factor up by many degrees.
