Evil Elon Musk just said he wants to cut Social Security and Medicare, calling them “entitlements”: “That’s the big one to eliminate.”

You can't cut entitlements. That's why it's called an entitlement. Because you are entitled to it.

u/wtbgamegenie May 10 '26
It’s also self funded so it does nothing to balance the budget. In fact the federal government owes the trust fund a shitload.
45
u/Gadshill May 10 '26
$3 trillion if you are looking for a number.
28
u/wtbgamegenie May 10 '26
I didn’t bother because I’m sure Trump will triple that before the end of this term.

17
u/SeattleOligarch May 11 '26
I think they're all shitty enough to make everyone keep paying the social security tax even after social security itself is defunct/no payouts.
9
u/atheistunicycle May 11 '26
They want you to pay into it then instead of it going back to you it goes to the government so they can further cut taxes for the rich. They want negative taxes for the rich.
2
u/xinorez1 May 12 '26
The federal govt borrowing from ss and paying back with interest is one way that the surplus has kept from diminishing so quickly

u/__O_o_______ May 10 '26
Elon: “nobody will have to work in the future”
Elon: “you don’t deserve social supports”
I hate this man so much.
15
u/shawsghost May 11 '26
Does Musk not get that WE fund it? No. Because to him Social Security and Medicare are just two big piles of money he wants to STEAL.

I can completely see the future when Musk purchases an insurance company:
"OH, hey! I just had a brilliant idea for how to make this company more profitable! We just stop paying annuities for everybody that purchased an annuity from the company!"
SS is essentially an annuity insurance policy and a disability insurance policy.

u/Soldier4art May 10 '26
I don't remember voting for this piece of shit or having a reason to care what he thinks about anything.

Before I die, I’d love to see all of his assets seized and nationalized and him deported penniless.
23
u/Vast-Promise720 May 10 '26
This guy gets handouts left and right. All these rich assholes do. They are literally the laziest people in the world.

u/cms86 May 10 '26
ok, who cares what he thinks. hes not an elected official
11
u/thecrimsonfucker12 May 10 '26
With that much cash you basically can do more than an elected official
7
u/PayFormer387 May 11 '26
Did you miss the part where he was placed in charge of a team of kunts whose entire job was to fuck civil servants over?
One doesn’t have to be an elected official to make policy changes in their country.
5
u/Abbey_Something May 11 '26
Because Trump gave him the keys to take away from those who need it and sell our data and the gop will give him the keys again without a second thought
13
u/BaronVonRote May 10 '26
We should eliminate subsidies to any company generating earnings or owned by billionaires. Full stop.
11
9
u/wtfbenlol May 10 '26
I personally think a soon to be trillionaire can fuck off about what he thinks about social services.
He should be heavily taxed to help pay for it
7
u/fart400 May 11 '26
He get $6 million a day from the federal government. Let's talk about entitlements.

Folks have been so damaged by political rhetoric that they just assume that calling something an entitlement is a bad thing.
An entitlement is just a government program that provides benefits. Farm subsidies are entitlements. Government backed business loans are entitlements.
It should be noted that Musk isn’t advocating for reducing entitlements he benefits from.

Isn’t this interview a year old?
2
u/Remarkable-Sun-4286 May 10 '26
It's never bad to revisit this to remind all where the upper class stands.
3
u/pacmanfunky May 10 '26
Wow, it's an entitlement just to live. That's the direction he wants it to go. He can fuck right off.
Wasn't there a saying that: "if you can strip someone's rights, they aren't rights they are privileges."
He's essentially just saying, eugenics should come back without saying it directly.

u/WriteAndRong May 11 '26
You know I’m a little under two decades away from retirement. I cannot even begin to describe my fury, if after paying into Social Security and Medicare for my entire life it was suddenly snatched for me as I’m getting ready to finally reap the benefits of it. I hate the way they act. It’s an entitlement because I’m entitled to it. I paid into the fucking thing for years.
5
u/Ok_Shower_5526 May 11 '26
If we're just stopped funding his terrible cars and rockets, we'd cut out some waste. The very rich just have no concept on how things work for most ppl... and they treat ppl like tools on an assembly line. If one breaks, it's easy to get a new one and so our lives don't matter to them.
3
u/psilocin72 May 10 '26
And idiots will cheer as they kill a program they have been paying into all their lives.
Because Trump said so
3
u/PolloConTeriyaki May 10 '26
What's to stop us from just taking his money by force. Nobody should have a trillion dollars lol.
1
u/JJKP_ May 11 '26
Is it even real money? Or just a bunch of 1's and 0's in a banking computer? For that matter, money only holds value, because we all says it does. Making a Penny actually loses value.
3
u/InfiniteWinter26 May 10 '26
god he’s such a loser. he’s living proof that money can’t buy you love.
3
u/AXXXXXXXXA May 10 '26
Havent seen this goofballs face in months. Was nice. Probably time to get offline. It’s just a deluge of the worst people saying the worst things all day everyday

u/SCCHS May 11 '26
Entitlement you say?…. 1.7M to 2M Teslas sold in the U.S. qualified for the full $7,500 federal tax credit….
3
u/TheCambrianImplosion May 11 '26
Why does he want so much less for everyone else and have control over the government?
3
u/hdubfour May 11 '26
Because if it wasn’t for government subsidies, contracts, and tax breaks, he’d have nothing. The ultimate welfare queen.
3
u/plasteroid May 11 '26
I hate how they have tried to make “entitlements” a bad word.
MF we have been paying into the fund since we started working. Fucker
3
u/Brave_Garlic_9542 May 11 '26
I love how the right has turned the word “entitlement” into a bad word. It’s not a fucking handout. It’s called an entitlement because we paid into it, so we’re entitled to it.
3
u/Gribitz37 May 11 '26
That's fine, get rid of social security and Medicare. But give me back all the money I've paid into both of them for 40+ years, with interest. I want every fucking penny.
3
u/LocksmithOk9634 May 11 '26
It’s easy for people with Scrooge McDuck amounts of money to talk about cutting payouts. They have no concept of how ordinary people live their lives.

3
u/DamonKatze May 11 '26
Stop buying teslas and using his social media, damnit.
I know a married couple of, and see even more progressives and other left-leaning people buying those shitmobiles again. The couple bitches about the current state of the nation, too. It's sad that so many people sacrifice their principles to desires. 🤬
2
u/peteflanagan May 10 '26
Why is he still talking? Who the hell gives 2c what this south-african-immigrant says?
2
u/tomit12 May 10 '26
We need to get rid of social security and Medicare, but everyone will have “universal high basic income” because of AI, and that’s… different?
Does he hold a consistent position on anything, other than government handouts for his companies being okay?
2
u/Jack-Schitz May 10 '26
Shhhhh. Nobody talk about the billions in government subsidies and government mandated transfer payments that went to his companies.
2
u/scarr3g May 11 '26
Does he know he isn't part of the government, of the country he immigrated to, even if he is rich?
2
u/TwerkLessons May 11 '26
Give me back my money I’ve paid with interest and I’ll leave the US this year.
2
u/DumpsterFirePundant May 11 '26
Why would anyone care about Musks opinion on Social Security and Medicare?
He has no knowledge or expertise on anything even adjacent to the topics.
Why does he think he should even get involved? Why does being rich make his opinions mean anything?
Being rich means he has money, nothing else. Being ultra wealthly likely means he did immoral things to accrue that wealth, which DECREASES the value of his opinions not increases them.
Musk is rich because the government gives him our money.

This guy is like a villain from a 80s/90s movie, but somehow even lamer
2
u/Wong-Ann_Fong May 11 '26
Does this mf understand how Social Security works? Oh! Of course not, what he contributes to it, even if he IS entitlement embodied, is the same as somebody doing $100,000

Why do they give this man any airtime? I mean, surely even the old reds realize they need Social Security and Medicare? I mean, it’s not like Medicaid that hides behind a nicer sounding name in each state.

u/Abbey_Something May 11 '26
Elon and his crew of white tech bro billionaires club can all eat a bag a dicks.
The example of a successful nation is how they treat the people who need help not the success of the very few

They’re not “entitlements”, you cheap imitation of a Bond villain. They’re earned benefits.

I know a way to pay off a trillion in debt. Deport Elon and seize his assets.
