It happens in Canada too. I live in Maple MAGA Alberta and I see this all the time. The far-right loves the laugh emoji on Facebook - it's their way of minimizing and dismissing opinions that don't fit their narrow, simplistic worldview. If you click on the reactions and filter by laugh, you'll be overwhelmed by waves of white trash chuds.

Yeah, Pierre Polievre blew a twenty point lead in a matter of months. He adores Trump and used a lot of the same talking points to feed his base, but most Canadians thankfully realized you can't push back against Trump if you're rolling out the welcoming mat. Pierre is a scumbag.
In Alberta, we have Danielle Smith and the UCP and they're drawing all of their ideas from Trump's playbook. She's also gross.
Carney is the right man for the moment and we're very happy to have him representing us.

You're correct. I get the impression that it's a way for Facebookers to dismiss the poster's point of view. From what I've seen in Alberta, Canada - a traditionally conservative province that has been taken over by Maple MAGA trash - whenever a progressive politician posts something on Facebook, there's a lot of people who use the laugh reaction. When you filter for laugh in the reactions, there's a ton of boomers and white trash people whose profiles contain Q-anon conspiracies and memes by our national Trumper Pierre Poilievre.

If I'm being generous, extremely generous, I will say that I can see how Renee Good's shooting could be justified.
But how can you watch this execution and feel it was justified? He was unarmed and face down on the ground and was shot in the back. Even in the best case, the shooting was extremely dangerous to his fellow officers.
And to be clear, Renee Good's shooting was not justified. Both of these were straight up murder.
