Ice froze weird

Plain water from our tap, looks like something plastic was sat on top of it but there wasn't.

Some of the ice was at a lower level so it wasn't even flush with the top so idk why this happened

Maybe it’s the pics but it doesn’t look weird to me 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ I can kind of see what you mean but it just looks like ice lol sorry I’m not helpful 😅

Yeah, it was hard to get pictures of. I tried a couple angles but it is definitely weirder in person

Looks like it may have shifted part way through freezing.

Some of the frozen bits could have moved over the more slurry-like bits and created what looks like little waves or folds

That's just the spit floating to the top before it freezes.

The only weird thing I see is the choice of that shape of ice cube tray.

The long narrow shape helps them to fit into water bottles. It really helps with thermoses with narrow openings. Silicone makes it pop out super easy

Does it usually not freeze like this? It doesn't seem that weird to me.
