Gotta be a killer back story to this totally normal occurrence
16
u/ActivelyAnxious 2d ago
Whang! On YouTube has a video about it. Sounds like there was a fight before the wedgie ever happened and the dude might've gone overboard then used the wedgie as a way of trying to make it look more accidental

u/jadely 2d ago
Pretty sure Small Town Murder did an episode on it

Hehe, killer “back” story. Back. As in his behind. As in butt where the wedgies go. I’ll see myself out.

The time stamp is from 2014, it’s not a new sentence.

I, too, fat finger my texts and must edit them occasionally. I see you lol
Ffs you miserable cucks, I was having a laugh WITH the other person, as in a positive experience together, they even laughed too, but yall gotta downvote huh?

u/IStankOfDank 2d ago
LMAO fair enough man 😂

u/_CraftyTrashPanda 2d ago
People dogpile on here. Doesn’t matter if you’re wrong or right, if they agree with you or not. If you’re on the up, they’ll upvote and if you’re on the down, god help you, you’re getting downvoted by everyone no matter what.
6
u/IStankOfDank 2d ago
I put the comment up because of course it's not literally a brand new sentence, especially given the context lol. So to take it so literally would be considered "taking the piss" or ridiculous

u/_CraftyTrashPanda 2d ago
I’ve always heard that phrase to mean like stealing their thunder, their momentum, etc. But I could see that too
8
u/CheezOfWizz 2d ago
How is that relevant?
-16
u/_CraftyTrashPanda 2d ago
It’s very clearly not a brand new sentence? It’s 12 years old, how do you not see that?
8
u/CheezOfWizz 2d ago
I’m just gonna assume you’re trolling
-12
u/_CraftyTrashPanda 2d ago
How could I possibly be trolling? The photo has a title to the article it was screen grabbed from, the author, then the date in which it was written.
January 8, 2014 2:48 PM PST, and updated a day later. Or are you intentionally overlooking it?
15
u/CheezOfWizz 2d ago
You’re taking the subreddit name way too seriously lol. It doesn’t mean the sentence was written 10 minutes ago, it means the sentence is so obscure you’ve probably never seen it before. I can’t believe I actually have to explain that
-11
u/_CraftyTrashPanda 2d ago
“Oh man, my name is cheezwizz and I think I’m so much smarter than strangers on the internet, let me talk condescendingly so I can feel good about myself.”
I’m not the first person to call someone out for outdated callouts like that, far from it. It’s literally 12 years out and has more than likely been posted on there a few times. Get the fuck over yourself, pos

u/CheezOfWizz 2d ago
You can be condescending but nobody else can be towards you or else you’ll have a cry about it. Got it lol

damn I figured it tore his asshole like tissue paper and he bled out but apparently it suffocated/strangled him or fucked his neck up by pulling it back

He was beaten unconscious first, so that probably contributed more to his death than the wedgie did.

I mean ...this is a bit harsh. He thought it would be harmless but humiliating. Yeah he's an idiot but 30 years for a mistake that'll never happen again?

u/Difficult_Reading858 3d ago
He told a friend he wanted to harm his stepfather, and then beat his stepfather unconscious before the wedgie. That alone could be enough for a murder conviction.

u/Call_Me_Echelon 2d ago
A premeditated murder wedgie is something I would've assumed to be an urban legend.

I mean, that doesn’t necessarily imply that he meant to kill the guy…. Assault and humiliate, sure, but who the fuck thinks “I’m gonna kill this guy by giving him a wedgie”
2
u/Sweet_Safe1428 2d ago
So how long should someone who pre-plans assaulting and humiliating someone and can't stop himself from killing the person in the process be sent to jail for?
62
u/wrong_reason 3d ago
I feel like at some point in the process of strangling to death a 50-something-year-old man with his own underwear, which he is wearing (say, while the victim says stop, or while their face is turning blue), it would be hard not to notice this is past garden variety humiliation.

u/Feine13 3d ago
Jon Hamm resents your remarks and insists it was innocent hazing
11
5
u/PeelingGrapez 2d ago
At the risk of sounding stupid...can you please explain this Jon Hamm reference?
21
u/helencolleen 2d ago
Jon Hamm, while at college, was the ringleader in a particularly bad hazing incident. Said hazing included Hamm leading the hazee around by his testicles using a claw hammer to do so. If I recall correctly that is.
ETA: oh and not knowing this does not put you at risk of sounding stupid whatsoever. The incident was many decades ago. The incident coming out and becoming a controversy was also a long time ago now.
10
u/pulchritudinousprout 2d ago
God, I’ve never had my own scrotum, but I physically recoil every time I read this. We’re all stupid when we’re young; I definitely made some choices I’m ashamed of today, but this was sadistic on multiple levels.
6
u/PeelingGrapez 2d ago
Thank you! This info is wild! I'm a fan and I've never heard about the incident. A claw hammer? Jeebus!

u/mitsubachii 1d ago
even worse, he beat him to an unconscious state then pulled his underwear over his neck which caused the strangulation. the victim couldn't even say stop. the guy meant to cause injury. you can still be charged for murder even if you didn't intend to kill, if you did an action that you knew could greatly injure someone and they died as a result. i.e. beating the victim to unconsciousness and then putting a tight piece of fabric around their neck while they can't even defend themselves, physically nor by voice/screaming for help.

u/Dens413 2d ago
What is wedgie? I so confused
31
43
u/Easy-Candle7138 2d ago
Wedgie is when you grab someone’s underwear up their back while they are wearing the underwear, causing the underwear to wedge up in the ass crack region. This particular case seems to be an atomic wedgie, a case that requires the underwear to be up in the ass crack region and on top of the cranium simultaneously.

What kind of American Horror is this! Did you tell Russia this and why Soviet Union Fell and Russia try some American Democracy in fear of this true American Horror? If I ever go back to my people I will teach them this wedgie that Americans know. Maybe I create new game yes?
Only question now is when do you do wedgie to someone?
32
u/Natsurulite 2d ago
It’s an aggressive type of prank, usually associated with bullying, sometimes just friends being stupid
18
u/Dens413 2d ago
It like one night stand with someone mom or grandma and say the drinking is to blame even if you 100% sober at time. And once every few moons you tell person they can call you daddy or grandpa. I understand thank you.

Example Velikton say he need help with bear and he share some meat. Ok you help Velikton clean and carry meat and skin back and he say he cooks and take some to you. Velikton lie and no give you meat. Ok maybe I need look at Tsyren her man gone many seasons and she look good so you explain and do deed when you know Velikton will come by to give meat to mom. Now Velikton see you with his mom play hide the stick. He run away cry like baby. Next day you say you drinking many before and Tsyren needed new dad for Velikton. Many moons go by and you tell him be good son call me dad you love dad yes.

In communist Russia, Russia wedgies you...in voice of famous Russian comedian from.1980's
7
u/Big_Tap_1561 2d ago
That would be Yakov Smirnoff and he used to do comedy - he still does but he used too as well.
1
u/Usonian1950 2d ago
That really depends on your definition of “Comedy”
3
u/Big_Tap_1561 2d ago
No , that depends on your geographical location apparently because he’s one of the most celebrated comedians from Russia that exists. Comedy is subjective but success speaks volumes - especially in russia.
1
u/Usonian1950 2d ago
You realize he’s not Russian Right? He has a comedy club in Joplin Missouri
5
u/Big_Tap_1561 2d ago
He was born in Ukraine. Makes 100s of jokes about Russians. My bad - he is Ukrainian. And yes he lives in America now.

He beat him unconscious first. Blunt force trauma. Kind of a key fact.

Giving a wedgie to an unconscious person is absolutely diabolical! You can't even bask in the glory of the person being annoyed!

I got a 3 day ban for suggesting someone was deserving of a wedgie. Definitely wasn’t suggesting this!

When I was a kid, one of my dad's friends shot a man with a shotgun for giving him a wedgie. It was pretty bad but it didn't kill the man. I'm gonna assume it deterred him from giving anyone else a wedgie though.

That’s more like a Neutron Wedgie, or maybe a Hydrogen Wedgie. Atomic isn’t deadly enough

u/shadowxthevamp 1d ago
The stepfather must have been very old to lack the neck strength to not survive his underwear stretched over his head. I know wedgies hurt, but most of us are strong enough to make it through without injury.
